Hey guys I’m posting up again sorry if you guys think I’m annoying I’m just trying to figure my problem out but I’ve just got my car back from the mechanics the car has got the engine, transmission and tail shaft replaced since I got it back it’s run pretty bad I think it’s the crank angle sensor is bad due to a really shit start up when I rev the car it would rev to what ever rpm I want it to then When I let got of the acc it will drop below to about 100-200 rpm and then catch its self this is much worse in drive the car sometimes won’t catch its self then it’ll stall I’ve tested all coil packs and coil pack connectors injectors and injector connector MAF sensor everything’s good but if i lightly touch the connector for the crank angle sensor while the cars running the car will shut off and won’t start till the connectors in a certain position then the car will start and run again but really poorly sometimes I’ll wiggle the connector and it’ll not change how the car is so it’s and on an of thing the mechanic replaced the connector with a brand new one from CZP or somthing like that so I was thinking it was the crank angle sensor its self the cars also jerks when it shifts it’s doesnt have any kick back but it does drive just not really smooth it’s revs fine shifts around 3k but it will sort of jerk even when the cars down shifting it’s got a code 54 signal to A/T i think that it’s got to do with the TCU as my old auto TCU was fine but the mechanic changed it to the one he bought with the new tranny if anyone can help it would be greatly apreciated I had another post called loss of power though the cars running better then before but it still runs like shit
    Thanks guys

What tests have been performed to determine that these parts are faulty?

    Where are you located?

Who is working on the car?

Why has the code 54 not been rectified before suggesting you replace more parts?

I’m working on my own car also I’m located in the northern suburbs of Melbourne I’ve tested every other connector in the engine bay with a mutimeter everything’s seems to be fine the crank angle sensor when you move the connect somtimes the engine will shut off then when you move it back to its original position the car will start up again I’ve test everything else I really feel as though it is either the crank angle sensor connector or it’s the crank angle sensor it self with the code 54 I’ve search it up online and saw this CODE 54: SIGNAL CIRCUIT FROM A/T TO TRANSMISSION CONTROL UNIT:
    a. Disconnect the battery. Place the terminals so that it cannot come into contact with the battery posts.
    b. Check and clean connector F25, which is the brown connector by the relay box on the driver’s side of the engine.
    c. Check and clean connector E35, which is the blue connector in front of the passenger side shock tower.
    d. Check body ground E13, which is located between the Relay Box and the Driver’s Side Headlight.
    e. Check and clean the Neutral Switch (A12) connector, which is the black connector running from the transmission to the engine bay.
    f. Clear and run codes.
Tried it and it fail to work the code just came back so I’m considering it’s the tcu since it’s just been put in without knowing the condition of the internals

We had stale fuel as the suspected cause, which was disproved.
Now the automatic transmission ECU is suspected as being defective & also the Crank Angle Sensor.

Normally a defective C.A.S. or defective wiring/connection would be indicated by a Code 11.
Code 54 indicates a problem with the A/T communication line being either open of shorted.

You make no mention of a Code 11, perhaps the Code 54 could be a good place to start.

    Is it a manual conversion?

Yeah I was thinking about borrowig an auto TCU from a mate plugging it in to see if it Fixs the problem if it doesn’t I was thinking its probably a short somewhere

    Nah it’s still an auto

You want to hope if there is a short somewhere, it doesn't stuff your mate's ECU.
Perhaps it may be a better idea to verify the wiring is NOT a problem, BEFORE swapping ECU's.

You are most likely missing the wire retaining clip from the connector.

I’m going to hopefully have a look to see if there is a short tomorrow before I try a different tcu

I thought that might be it to but I’ve actually still got the little metel clip the holds the connector down

Hey guys I think I figure some else about the transmission the reason it’s doesnt have any power it cause it takes of in 2nd even if I manually put it in 1st the transmission stays in second so takeing our it’s feels like it’s missing a lot of power but about 70 kmh when stepping on it the car feels normal so the grass mission just doesn’t want to go in 1st gear
