From my understanding the Z32 came out with 3 keys: titanium, black and red. Titanium being original, black being the spare and red valet.
I have only the red key therfore if I purchase the titanium and black keys, are they cut the same as the red? Can someone please explain..

    My understanding is this:

    Titanium was optional.
Black is typical master and opens everything.
Red is valet, will not unlock glovebox.

The red only opens drivers door and will start car.
It wont open passenger door, rear hatch or glovebox.
My question is are all the keys cut the same?

Okay, I think I found the answer to my own queation.
The valet (red) is cut the same to the master, the difference being different size flutes in the keys.
    Can someone confirm this?

    Yes, that is correct.
    There were four keys available.
The three keys MagicMike mentioned previously, plus the NISMO key.

The shoulders on the titanium keys are different compared to the red key. I don't know if this is limited to the reps or if this is true for OE titanium, and I don't know if this is true when cutting a titanium key off a black key (likewise I only have a red key). Nothing that a competent locksmith can't handle but I'd suggest taking a key barrel with you when you get it done.

What do you mean the shoulders are different Rob?
They look the same to me.
    Black, Red, Titanium & NISMO

Sorry not the shoulders, the bridge.

When I had my GZA titanium key cut form my original valet key the bridge on the new key had to be cut back a little to get the key to go in to the correct depth. The teeth profiles etc all matched, all looked good, but I couldn't get the key to operate the lock. I took a key barrel and the keys back and the locksmith worked it out eventually.

I don't have anything to compare to so not sure if it is a difference between the aftermarket Ti key and the OEM Ti Key (although I've sold maybe 100 of the aftermarket ones and no complaints so I honestly don't think so), or a difference between the Ti key and the valey key, or just wear and tear on my 30 year old valet key perhaps confusing the issue. I do know of at least one other member who had the same issue (and same solution) cutting a Ti key from a valet key.

Okay cool, so providing I purchase a black key and have it cut the same as my red key, the black key should therfore work on all locks?
The only visible differeces should be the width of the flutes?
    Have I got that correct?

Yes but I think generally speaking I think take a lock barrel (pull the one out of the hatch) with you so that you can make sure all works etc before you leave the shop.

Ok.... This is what I have.......

I have a 3 owner 25th Anniversary model that came with two black keys and one red key as per pics. These are original with the car and you can see the key code stampings. The red key is referred to as a valet or service key so it only opens the doors and starts the car.
20+ years ago, the idea was when it was in service or valet parked, you could lock you valuables in the boot or glovebox, give the key to someone else yet not have any access to your goodies.
The valet/service key has the same 4 digit key number but has an X on the end of it.
As you can see in the final photo, marked by the little blue arrows, the bridge is tiny on the red key.

    I hope this helps........ Cheers.....Bob.

That's exactly what I've been looking for. I'm in the USA (member here because of the active community) and these are the only keys I keep coming across.

But i guess if i can order one from ebay.au shipping cant be that bad.

    Thanks for pointing that out!

If you're in the USA you'd get a 25% discount due to the exchange rate.
It wouldn't cost much to post a key.
