    Hi

Need help after an AT to 5 speed conversion

Car has power but no ignition so assume the Inhibitor Switch needs to be bypassed

I looked up bypass conversion but found no real specific instructions or pictures

Wondering if anyone knows the best solution for the bypass and anywhere I can find a detailed description to the bypass solution

    Cheers JC

I have headlights, brake lights and interior lights ... but no ACC or IGN power
Will the inhibitor switch prevent me from getting ACC lights ?
Or is my problem ground - either way ..I will need to bypass the inhibitor...

For anyone searching down the line I’m doing some work on one at the moment that’s had a manual conversion done at some stage. They just looped the connector for the neutral switch, which I presume leaves the inhibitor at a permanently “ready” state and also keeps the base timing at 15*.

do you have any pics of what was looped? my car was converted however base timing is at 20* due to not seeing nutural from the gearbox

I'm curious about this, my car is AT to MT conversion and seems to be 15* a lot of the time but I have seen it at 20* also albeit it only seems to be above a certain speed when lifting off the throttle will it be 20*, is this how it should be?

Sounds like a good idea Rob ... it does make sense to me to loop it to neutral

My understanding is that 20' is needed due to the torque converter (auto cams/ auto exhaust etc) and removing the auto (i.e. removing the torque converter) means it should be at 15 all the time, as that additional advance is no longer needed to prevent stall at park and on takeoff etc ...
