So im a bit pissed, and going to have a bit of a winge.

I replied to an add on Gumtree advertising some Z32 parts, the initial add was for an alternator, this was a business advertisement (they also advertise on Ebay)

I mentioned that i was not after an alternator, but some other parts.
    NA oil filter tree.
The adjustment bracket for the alternator
The main bolt and nut that fits the alternator to the bracket on the block
    and an accelerator pedal.
I mentioned that i would need the items posted if he had them, and included my postcode in the reply.

The reply was that they had all these items, and gave me a price including postage.
    Awsome!!

So a transaction was made and he reply that he would let me know when the items had been posted.

I didn't hear from him in a couple of days, so shot him a message via Gumtree asking if the package had been sent.
The reply was, yeah mate, sent it out yesterday, ill chase up the tracking number.

Anyway, i didn't hear anything back, but another couple of days later the package arrived, all good i thought.

I opened it up, grabbed the alternator bolt out, and thought, this looks a bit small, and it was.
Im not sure what it is for, but way too short and narrow for the alternator.

Pulled out the oil filter tree, and yep, you guessed it, it was a TT one.

The accelerator pedal mounting bracket is rusty and so was the adjustment bolt on the alternator adjustment bracket, but nothing that couldn't be sorted with a wire wheel and a coat of paint.

So i contacted the seller, and thanked him, saying the package arrived.
But, mentioned that the bolt was incorrect because it was too short, and the oil filter tree was off a TT not an NA.

Well, No it is not wrong, was the reply, i took it off an NA engine myself.

I replied with a photo i dragged off here, showing the NA and TT oil filter tree, and explained that the one i received was the large one on the right, not the smaller one on the left.

After another few messages with him saying that he sent the right one, i took it off myself, i can show you the photo of the block i took it off, and how he has been working with these cars forever.
A refund was offered for the parts if i sent them back.

I agreed, said thank you, but would also expect the cost of the postage paid for as well, since i was given the incorrect items.

Now nothing, no reply's to messages or text's, and will not answer the phone (got his number off the business card he send with the package)

Its not a big amount of money, $20 worth of parts, but what pisses me off is that a very obvious mistake has been made, and he wont cop it on the chin and admit to it.
We are human, we fuck up, we all do, but man up and apologise when it happens.

Well that is all, End Rant.
    Thanks for listening lol :)

You are being totally unreasonable. Do you really expect to get what you asked and paid for and they told you they had. Come on now you should have realised you would be forcibly bent over and given what you did not ask for.
Sorry mate I to have had enough of getting told what was sent was what I wanted only to find out it was not. It's happens more with Gumtree and at least with ebay you have some chance of Paypal sorting it out. It's the new way of ripping people off and they don't even have to face you in person.
    Cheers

I have to wonder.... was the engine a TT that had had the turbos removed? and thus a NA block now.....

I’ve bought heaps of second hand and new stuff of members of this forum, Gumtree and EBay, and haven’t really had any dramas, if I did it’s been sorted quickly.
    Maybe I’ve just been lucky.
This being a business transaction, who seem to deal with JDM stuff, I made the assumption that 1. They knew what they were talking about and 2. Would be trustworthy.
    My bad their.
And I did actually pay with PayPal

NA and TT filter trees are actually nearly idential, the only difference is the TT one has an extra port for the oil cooler feed.

If you are referring to this thread: https://aus300zx.com/xenforo/index.php?threads/which-oil-filter-tree.329521/

FYI this image is not applicable, only the LHD cars had differently sized oil filter trees as per the above image, ALL RHD cars have the bigger version.

If NA it is like this one:

if TT has extra cast port:
