    Hi Guys,

New member and will introduce myself in more detail later but I have just got the complete listing of all Australian delivered 300Zx's. Mark Dodd, the owner of the site is a GT-R enthusiast who has put some unbelieve data together.

Here is a link to the ADM 300zx's. Fascinating stuff.
Make sure you click the little pluses on the left hand side next to the Vin Range series for the manual and automatic breakdowns.

    Enjoy...... Cheers Bob.

Wow, this is awesome and very interesting for someone like me who is a bit of a nerd when it comes to the adm stuff.

Assuming this data is 100% accurate and comes from a reliable source it shows some interesting points.
    • Autos outsold manuals for every model except the s2 cars (91 manuals to 95 autos). Total production was 43.5% manual, 56.5% auto.
    • AG2 Red was the most popular colour of the production run despite being available on the s1 cars.
    • There was 1 yellow EH7 car imported - likely a special order (08-91) as I don't believe this was ever offered as a colour here new.
    • There were 5 black pearl metallic 732 series 1 cars manufactured (I've never seen one before and didn't think this was offered as an option at the time).
    • Cars 1, 2 & 7 had beige/tan interiors. Cars 4, 5 & 6 had red interiors (one of these is likely the one that was on ebay a couple years ago with the red interior). Car #9 was the only one to have a blue interior. I'm guessing that being the first run they were purchased by some special/important people who got the pick of some special extras. (note: these colours are based on the interior trim colours listed on the z32 wiki page).
    • There were no adm cars manufactured in 12-93, the last 5 series vin (s2 cars) was made 11-93.
    • The first 6 series vin (car #1274) which was the first to have an airbag (s3 cars) was manufactured much earlier in 04-93. This may have been a special order or test car since Nissan was putting airbags in the jdm z32 from late 92? This was also the only 6 series vin (s3 car) to have the original rubber spoiler fitted (as opposed to the later 'halo' wing.
    • A similar thing happened with the first 5 series vin (car #1088) being made in 12-91, 3 months before the next series 5 vin.
    • There was another 6 series car made in 10-93 before the end of the 5 series vin cars which had the halo style wing fitted.
    • The 40 SMZ cars don't have special vin's for the adm models (which makes sense).

Hi Ryzan.......... I'm glad I found another person who loves this type of data stuff.

As you can see, I'm a new member but not new to the car game or even Nissans.
I have been very active within the R32 GT-R fraternity over the last 7 years.
I've owned 5 cars and currently own an ADM (26/100) and a V-Spec II.
I'm currently communicating with a seller on a 25th Anniversary model.
I don't want to say too much about that as I've jinxed myself in the past by letting the cat out of the bag a bit early.
it staggers me how cheap these cars are considering their original new car price. I guess I'm conditioned to the GT-R pricing which has gone through the roof since the American have been able to import them under their 25 year rule.

Anyway, yes the data should all be correct as it came from Nissan FAST.
Mark Dodd the author has spent an enormous amount of time compiling the information on his site and is highly respected within the GT-R scene.
I asked him if he had this information on Z32's and within 24 hrs it's done.
I think he has developed some automatic program that extracts a VIN ranges from FAST and inserts it into an excel spreadsheet. He says he can do about 5000 VIN's ina day. This took about 6 hours.
Imaging doing this manually 1463 times!

One question he has was what is the best or accepted terminology for the VR1-VR4?
In GT-R land they are referred to as Series 1, 2 and 3 cars.
Does VR stand for "VIN Range" or an abbreviation for "Version"?
Once clarified, he will amend or adjust accordingly.

I've played around with the data, and put this info into this attached spreadsheet as an easy ready reckoner/matrix.

I just tried to upload it and it says it "does not have an allowable extension"...... WTF?
I've scanned it and uploaded it as a PDF file.

    Ok......
So wish me luck and hopefully by this time next week I'll be the owner of a 25th Anniversary 300ZX.

    Cheers,

    Bob.

Realistically the ADM cars all being naturally aspirated hurt as while they weren't slow back in the day they were never a fast car either. Easily outshined by other turbo imports of the time and hard to work on means they are often overshadowed. Good luck on your own purchase of a 25 anniversary model.

We're the same and use series 1, series 2 etc. rather than vr1, vr2. Is he able to do the same thing for all the JDM cars with the appropriate version of FAST? As far as I'm aware there is no equivalent data register for these.

Also, I noticed on ADM cars #1 and #2 they have nothing listed for air conditioner or ABS, possible this was missed or is something else going on here?

Thanks I'm trying to contain my excitement but I know the car won't be as good as I'm expecting but it all relative.

OK..... Series 1 2 3 4 etc I'll let him know but he will want to stick with the FAST abbreviation.
    Personally, I'd go with Version.

    When you ask.....

Is he able to do the same thing for all the JDM cars with the appropriate version of FAST? As far as I'm aware there is no equivalent data register for these.

Are you talking about other Nissan products or other brands?
If you look at this link, the top RHS he does have other models under the "More Cars" title.

    http://gtr-registry.com/en-300zx-z32-au.php

What he did say last night is that he can't access ADM R31's and Z31's.
That's a bugger as it would have been nice to have the same for all ADM Z31's.

Regarding cars 1 and 2, they may have been press cars, prototypes, evaluation vehicles etc.
It's not unusual to see very early run cars differ from mainstream.
I believe the data, those two cars probably missed out with those features.
I just think it's more likely things that listed items may be missing than things omitted being fitted.
This is simply from personally experience.

I'm in Sydney, your in QLD is that correct?

    Ta...... Bob.

Makes sense to stick with whatever the fast reference is. It's not confusing anyway.

I should have been clearer, was talking about the JDM Z32 specifically and if it would be possible to export the data out of fast for them. I've been going through his website and have learnt some interesting stuff already, never new the r32 sedan came out with a CA18 from the factory.

I'd believe that they were press cars or evaluation cars or something of the like. Especially considering the anomalies in the first 9 cars off the line.

Yes I'm up in Rockhampton, Queensland. If you have a look in the coming events section of the forum we have Zedfest 2018 in easter that you may be interested in attending (in z32 or r32). :)

Yes I did see that, and I know Armidale pretty well as I go there 3-4 times a year for they last 35 years! LOL.

What sort of a turnout ( in cars and people) do you normally get?
The Skyline Nationals vary from 100-200 cars over the years but there are thousands more across the board.:)

Nowhere near Skyline nationals, probably 15-30 cars.

Also, if you wanted one of the locals to look over the smz before you buy it I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding one who would do so in exchange for a ride an an r32.

That's a great list. It would be great to see a JDM one as a lot of us have them. A lot of detail. It would also be good if people could list cars they have written off so we get an idea of what is left in numbers.
    Thanks

    Slight correction to the information..........

Paint Code TK3 was known as Blue Pearl Graphite up to October 1994.
From October 1994 TK3 was known as Sapphire Blue.

Do we know what colours the 25th Anniversary cars were done in?
Obviously Red and Sapphire Blue, any others?
    Many thanks,

    Bob.

They were also offered in QN0 Pearl White (probably the rarest of the 3 colours).

On the subject of rarity based on colour.
#992 being the only EH7 Yellow & #1259 being the only GL1 Black, would share the title.

Hi, I'm Mark who runs GTR-Registry.com

    Straight from Nissan FAST :)

I've updated the specs section to have the interior colours, thanks.

You'll have to excuse my lack of 300ZX knowledge. So I checked the JDM cars real quick and noticed 6 VIN ranges. So it's common to list the cars as series as 1 to 6?

This is the first build date for the JDM cars for each VIN range (please note I've only just checked this real quickly and not run scans to find any others).

    Z32-000001 1989-07 > 1992-07 Series 1
    Z32-030001 1992-08 > 1993-08 Series 2
    Z32-032001 1993-09 > 1994-09 Series 3
    Z32-040001 1994-11 > 1996-12 Series 4
    Z32-041001 1997-01 > 1998-08 Series 5
    Z32-050001 1998-10 > 2008-08 Series 6

Ok, thanks. Yes I can do the data for the JDM cars. However, collecting the data is really 5% of the work that needs to be done. Basically I have to find the VIN ranges (which is relatively easy for JDM cars) and then I can run some scripts and collect the data, around 5k cars/day. All I can collect is the model code, colour, build date and interior code. The real amount of work comes from researching the cars first (to be honest I don't really know anything about the 300ZX, sorry) working the collected data, which means breaking down the model code, working out all of the different types from the model code (sometimes extremely hard, sometimes easy), and then converting everything from Japanese to english (which can be very difficult sometimes), and then calculating all of the build numbers, and then getting everything uploaded which means finding colour codes (also difficult at times), and then converting everything to HTML etc.

I've started collecting the data for you, which I will upload here. Unfortunately I'm not going to work the data and get it ready for the site anytime soon, if ever. I'm working on a big redesign and in the middle of converting everything to Japanese which is taking months. After that I still want to finish the S chassis cars (have done S13 and S15; S14 and RS13 to go) which will take quite a while longer.

If you want to help, find me the VIN ranges for the CZ32, GCZ32, GZ32, HZ32 cars :) Nissan FAST download is here http://gtr-registry.com/en-nissan-fast.php

If you want to help work the data then I'll be more inclined to put it on the site with your credit in the future. Otherwise it might be a 1 to 2 year wait. But I'll get you the data since that's the easy part, and give you advise how to best work it. I have already collected 240,550 Z33 350Z car records but just been sitting on them as no time to get them up.

Regarding car #1 and #2, my data comes straight from the model code. As there is no C or G listed as a V/S symbol, therefore I have not written anything in. In reality they could have come with air-con.

Sorry definitely can't do the written off list. GT-R owners can add photos however ;)

Thanks. Because the way the database is encoded I can only give 1 name to a colour. This wasn't a problem when I only had Skylines on there but has become more of an issue as I've added other cars. As TK3 is also a S15 colour and I added S15s first, that's why the name is like that. Sorry I can't do much to fix that :( Up the top of the colour chart I have it listed correctly.

I assume you've found this? Can also search last 4/6 digits if you prefer.

Any other questions or feedback I'm happy to help/listen, and update accordingly. Cheers, Mark

Trying to develop some sort of "series" nomenclature is pure misguided futility.

Stick with year of manufacture and what each Z32 entails and there will be no confusion or BS.

Brisz I don't know if you meant your post to be rude but that's how it's come across (at least that's how I read it).

As Mark suggested he doesn't know the 300ZX so does not know what format the VIN's or models are.

My limited knowledge there was only series 1 and series 2. So maybe help out by offering up some accurate info to help sort the data, otherwise a simple Thanks for the work Mark has done and data he is providing would suffice :)

Mark, I'm from the UK 300ZX owner's club (www.300zx.co.uk). I would be more than happy to help produce
an equivalent UK listing to your AUS listing for Z32s sold in the UK (approx 1450). I have FAST and the
ER1 (UK RHD) data for UK specs. That help could be VIN range(s) (JN10RGZ32) and/or the working the data.

    Hi Andrew,

Awesome, yes please send me the VIN ranges if you have them, otherwise I guessed a VIN (JN10RGZ32U0000001) based off of what I know from R35s so assuming that JN10RGZ32U0 is the only style used, I will be able to work out everything else with a little bit of work. I have data up to 2017 for UK/Europe so no problems there :) I will collect them after I finish the JDM which will take maybe 2 weeks. I will be able to put them on my site relatively easy for you as only 1 type/no japanese to convert etc.
