Ive seen the question about decent priced tyres asked a fair lately, so i figured id share the little bit of internet gold ive found. www.tyretrader.com.au is an australian wholesaler for tyres. You dont need an account, a tyre fitter licence, or anything special at all to buy. Average joe can click and buy. You can search for tyres using your tyre profile as well, which is a lot easier than spending hours looking through brands. Speaking of brands, there are plenty of good ones available. Toyo, Kumho, Continental just to name a few.

As far as pricing goes, this site has the best prices ive ever found. Before I knew about it i was paying $290 a tyre for KU36s, i can buy them for $148 a tyre plus post on here. To reaally put it in perspective, my boss bought some tyres for his 11 inch wide rims for $110 each including post! Only cheapo burnout tyres for that ridiculous price, but for a tyre upwards of 295 thats stupidly cheap. Shipping is generally around the $15 a tyre mark, and theres a little shipping estimator for you when you click on any of the tyres so you can figure it out before buying.

Basically, if you buy your tyres here and buy your local tyre fitter a carton to swap your tyres over youll save around 20-50% of the retail cost, which is a convincing enough saving for the extra hassle.

That link again for anyone who missed it: www.tyretrader.com.au

    Enjoy :)

I think these are the guys with a big presence on eBay now also. Noticed their pricing on Khumo slicks :)

    That's good info.
I ran a test price today on a set of Goodyear tyres for my ute.
A local tyre outlet quoted $175.00 each, fitted & balanced, which translates to $700.00 for 4.
Tyretrader quoted $118 each plus delivery.
The total for 4 tyres delivered came to $472.00.
They have "fitting outlets" where you can have the tyres delivered, that will fit & balance 16" tyres for $20.00 each.
So the total would amount to $552.00.
    That's a saving of $148.00, not bad.

Anybody who can give a feedback on Toyo proxes? Not a cheap brand but i'm okay in spending money to get a good quality tyre.

Bridgestone had a buy 3 get 1 free sale, not sure if still on but might be? Got a set of RE003s for the daily and was $600 inc alignment. Ended up changing tyres on dad and me missus' cars too too at $399 per car for the eco tyre option. Bargain. Love them eco tyres too, tempted to get a set for the drift pig as they slide so well.

I got some Michelin PS3's for the Z. 10/10 good tyre, so much grip it's ludicrous. Pilot sports can be a bit pricey, especially the PS4s, but I scored some PS3s on tyresales for cheap because the 4's have been out for a while.
Also used Falken midrange tyres on my DD (Swift Sport), I have been very impressed with the Falkens - reasonably priced, very grippy especially in the wet, and very quiet.
