Spoken like a legend ....but worth $6k with $30k+ of new parts on it sounds a bit harsh. I'm happy to be stuck with mine as well
OK I'd probably ask 10k but I think people see what is wrong wit the car not what is right with it and in my case several different shades of red paint might detract. And a lot of that +30k can't be seen with the eyes on casual inspection. Though in the long run the cars that have owners that'll spend +30k on them even if they are worth less than half that are the ones that will survive and one day they may be worth a lot more.
My teenager son has just booked his learners (almost 16)......and has his eye on my 1990 NA, with original and stock engine. Proud father. Does he get it, well how can I say no. Time I went Turbo anyway.
