I haven't used it but I can tell you size matters in speakers. You wont notice much improvement if you already have some 6x9"s or similar.

I haven't used it ether but you shouldn't expect too much of 8" sub...
Probably just about 60W with an extra 0 mid range speaker and I bet that you can't "feel it" no matter how it's positioned.

I was looking at those and agree they are not going to give you an abdominal cavity shaking experience.

But I don't want that so they are still of great interest to me. I chased down reviews and what ever I could find some time back and if you expect it to replace the larger unit you linked you will be sadly disappointed, go figure.

I want something to round out the sound and I think they would do that, I like the idea of fitting on the floor behind the drivers seat. Takes nothing away from the load space in the 2+2 that I do use regularly.

My deck apparently has a sub out capability and doesn't need to be that powerful to drive it and would round out the sound so if that is all you are looking for I think they will do the job.

Even as something to round out the lows the slim 8" is going to be a fairly subtle improvement, depending on the existing setup. A pair of good 6" splits boxed (got bose enclosures?) with an amp will come quite close to what the 8" can deliver. If you already have good 6" cones I'd have a look at what you could do with a slim profile 12" like kicker's compVT or similar.

For Peter, that sony unit will probably be ok, you'll be able to get volume out of it but between a sealed 8" and low tier ported 12" you generally lose some of the higher end bass response and it can become difficult to get a smooth transition between what the woofers are doing and the sub. I run a slim sealed 12" which does nicely for rounding out the sound but you do miss the punch of a deeper driver. Personally, depending on how far you want to push the budget I'd go either a low tier driver and sealed box or a higher power unit with properly designed ported box. That said if you just want volume a cheapie in a ported box will deliver, that's why they're so common.

It would nice to see one perform, as I said I don't want my innards to dance just round out the bottom end.

I have 6" splits in the front and 6x9 2 way in the rear in stock positions pretty basic but perform fairly well but lack bottom end.

And I don't want anything in the cargo space.

:D Thank you all for nice reply.I went to our hot up store here Super cheap :bash: picked up the fusion slim got a shock on how heavy it was as I wanted to side mount 2 in the boot area of 2+0 but to heavy to fit on side so still thinking about things :rolleyes2: Most likely go the big Sony box but want to have a nice base mount put with it so can lift in and out fast. But needs to be neat and when the Z ass flicks out I don't want boom box denting the Z sides lol:D As I said THANK YOU ALL :zlove: this has been a nice drive with the key board :br::zlove::rolleyes2::D:agree:

It'll work ok, not very space efficient but I have a feeling it'll get you where you want to be.

Note that with size being important in speakers it's not just about the cone diameter, the magnet and coil size (and obviously quality but that's harder to check) make a big difference to volume and quality. Those fusion kits use their bottom tier drivers which are pretty scrawny https://www.fusionentertainment.com/car/products/subwoofers/en-sw122 so you will find plenty of single speaker units around that can drown out those double boxes. Comes down to price though.

Might be worth it if you can find a retailer or installer that wouldn't mind giving you a demo of the options. If even 15cm of cargo depth is too much you'd need to look into custom mounting options though if you wanted a more capable 10" or 12".

That is a bit better if it can fit.
I would go with something descent like Soundstreem/Kicker/Alpine Dual 2-ohm coils but they are a bit thicker deeper...

Haven't heard one of those flat ones... but I saw this box not long ago in cash converter store going for $100-$150 (used of course)

The first question that should have been asked is what do you want it for? what style of music do you listen to/ do you want low bass, direct bass?

I have two 4inch woofer's in my audi in an infinite baffle setup, punches like a 10inch. Struggles with super low frequencies, though can keep up with fast hitting bass.
