So I roasted a head gasket a number of years ago and after some slight modifications I've finally got the car back together and running. This is just a teaser video, the engine is sounding very strong with no issues at all on the dyno. It's only on 6lb of boost for the moment as I run the motor in however expecting 350rwkw+ from this setup at full noise. https://youtu.be/m8pRnMDnVL8 The car is still being completed and I will provide more photos and a full modification list when I build up the courage to sit down and add it all up! Stay tuned!
awesome mate looks and sounds the goods... specs on the dizzy?? obviously running aftermarket ecu, is it modified or factory? i hear some people having issues running individual coils with the factory dizzy
I've ditched the rotor button and cap obviously as you can see in the video. I'm going to get a plate fabricated to cover up the distributor mounting point so it's being utilised purely for the crank angle sensor for simplicity sake at present. The stock ECU is sitting in a box and I'm running a full stand alone MoTeC EMS tuned by Godzilla Motorsports. This car is not factory and I have been guided by the best in the business in setting it up. Whilst the CAS setup isn't permanent there have been no issues thus far. I expect to have the road worthy done in the next few weeks, only small stuff left like cv boots, rear washer etc to pass rwc then it's on the street.
Haha cheers mate. Yeah it's been a while for sure. Typical story of life getting in the way and a rebuild of this kind taking much longer than anticipated. That's mostly due to my inability to stick to scope and changing everything lol
So I failed RWC due to a leaking shock at the front. This was most unfortunate however there is a solution... Do I pass now Mr. Road Worthy?
I've started to compile the modification list, I'm still forgetting some stuff I'm sure but this is the bulk of it. Here's a few teaser photos, I'm still sorting through these. Before After Pick-up Im only running 6psi at the moment and it's already berzerk to drive. The car has been run in on the dyno already but I'm going to put about 2,000kms on the clock before I go back to Godzilla Motorsports for the big power tune.
Yeah but that will come much later when I want the last 5% out of this setup. I still want it as streetable as possible - it runs just fine on this tune with 98 even cold starts!
Here is a sample, this is 6psi on the run-in tune so it's very rich and rev limiter set @ 6,000rpm. https://youtube.com/watch?v=9gN0_ty_CCk
Thank you! lol My ambitions are to keep it as streetable as possible whilst still looking stock to the untrained eye. The sound is a bit of a give away though! :/
