Has anyone tried using a hydraulic throwout bearing on their 300ZX? Just wondering what peoples experiences are with them and any issues?
you might have to expand on this. you are talking about the clutch throw out bearing ? if so, they are already part of a hydraulic clutch system
350z or 370z has a piston type Concentric Slave Cylinder The early ones had a plastic piston and gave some trouble When I looked at fitting it to a 300zx box the mechanism looked retro fittable Cos has a pic here https://conceptzperformance.com/nis...csc-nissan-370z-09-z34-306a1-jk40e_p_4594.php
a hydraulic throwout bearing doesn't use a slave cylinder to move a clutch fork. Instead it has the hydraulic line from the master cylinder go straight to a special piston style throwout bearing and hence you don't need a clutch fork. Sort of like this:
Is it right to say that in the picture the bleed nipple would require the gearbox to be split from the flywheel / clutch so it could be bled ? Looks good but would be a pain in the arse if that's what is required to bleed. Cheers Dave
Have helped a mate fit one to an improved production race car (KE25 Corolla 3S BEAMS turbo and celica gearbox). Bit of a pain when R&R gearbox and not many kms since install as a cracked block has parked the car for a while.
Clutch setup slave setup Opel use a circular hydraulic cylinder set-up inside the bell housing.:zlove:
I have one fitted on my race car, 4speed dog box. You would have to modify the gearbox to allow slave to be screwed onto sleeve around gearbox input/drive shaft.. Its a lot of time effort and money to replace something that has been working adequately for over 25 years.
The answer is because you can  The real answer is everyone seems to think they have a better way of doing things
