I am wanting to know how to get the newer switches and fit them to a 90 model z. Where can these be sourced and where can the adapter loom be sourced? I recall ADAMZX acquired a set of these and is currently running them. I can't read or write Japanese which has made looking for these near impossible. Does Nissan Japan still make them? Could they be sourced this way? I don't want to be spending a fortune though on window switches.

    Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Nissan still makes all the late model parts but if you don't want to spend a fortune they're probably not for you dude. I know that sounds blunt, but this stuff ain't cheap.

The adapter looms were never a Nissan option, they were (are?) manufactured by Z32 Zone in Japan.

Yes i do have them installed and working perfectly in my 89 model z32. I recommand you fet the 97-98 windows which all the adaptor looms will adapt the wiring to get the switches to work. The 99-00 switches have a different wiring setup.

The adaptor harness is going to be your biggest issue the shop which rob has point out z32zone are very hard to deal with and i only got my harness with some help from a uk forum member who got them for me from that shop as well as one for himself.

Maybe member raheen could go to the shop directly for you if he is able to and maybe buy the harness for you. I dunno

Jesse Streeter can get you both the '97-'99 window switches & the harness' you'll need but very much doubt you'll see change from $400. The harness' were once offered for around $30 are now closer to $200...
If you are willing to spend that much, I can post the part numbers
If you want to just replace your originals, Coz reckons one of the switch finishers are NLA but Jessy Streeter can still get you the whole set

Can we get the part numbers of the newest 2000 switches and wiring adaptors and appropriate contact(s) and place them permanently on the tech section for future reference for those that are willing to upgrade at some stage.

Even if it's $400. As long as it's plug and play. I'm interested in this too.

I have purchased new interior trim parts recently for my Z and one thing I can definitely say is new (plastic) bits for the Z32 are expensive. I'm starting to think $400 for a brand new set of 2000 window switches with plug and play wiring adaptors is quite reasonable.

So would I be just contacting Jesse Streeter with the part numbers for nissan Japan and point towards Z32 Zone for the adapter harness to be purchased. Are we able to get the right part numbers for the 97-98 that Adam's talking about. As far as I understand it the adapter harness is aftermarket and was never made by nissan.

    Didn't ed300zx do a group buy a while ago?

    my two cents

Usually i find the part numbers on here: Link then get Streeter to get the parts for me.

The wife thinks its too much for my father in law (77 years old) to ride up the road on his bike to nissan and order the parts for me... hes too old apparently, but she happily sends him on errands for stuff she wants... women

I have emailed Z32 Zone a few times (the boss usually, Omura San) in Japanese he never replies. I bought my zed from him too in the flesh... hows that for service. Almost all Japanese business cant be arsed with foreigners, they got some cool stuff there but they cant be arsed supporting Overseas retails purchases.

Check this out: Link a little way down there is a kit for window swtichs, there is some cabling in the pics?? looks after market but looks like an upgrade to me?

    Ok heres what it says

    1. Adapter Wiring - JPY 18360
    2. Driver Side Switches - JPY 5486
    3. Passenger Side Switches - JPY 2959
    4. Screws/ Mounting bits - JPY 680

    The plastic Surrounds,

    A. Version S (stock plastic look) Drivers JPY 4849 Passenger JPY 2333
    B. Version R (carbon fiber) Drivers JPY 9655 Passenger JPY 4698
    C. Black Wood Drivers JPY 9655 Passenger JPY 4698.

    1-4 + A = JPY 34667 about 450 AUD
    1-4 + B or C = JPY 41838 about 540 AUD

Send the link to Streeter, I would expect extra 10% for him to do all the leg work for you. But it appears you can buy on their site, says once you add it to your cart they accept credit card for overseas customers.

    :D

Hi Peter, I bought replacement '97 model window switches, if you're hell-bent on the 2k switches, I'm sure Adam can supply the part numbers :)

Yep, just email Jesse with the part numbers, he can also get the harnesses for you (might save you some shipping cost?). And yes, Erik did suggest a GB some time ago but I'm not sure there was enough interest at the time - which is a pity because I think you'll find the harnesses are now triple the price that he was quoted back then...

If you really want the switches, I have a set available including the complete door harnesses.
    PM if interested.

If you are doing this to get led lighting in the door switches you can do it yourself with the original ones. I did mine a few years ago and wasn't that hard a job

    Thanks guys,

Perhaps a moderator can place this information in the Tech Section for future reference.

I can't do anything at this stage. Alternator went crook on the w/end and this takes priority now. But I will come back to this thread.

It looks like someone has already posted the part numbers but if your looking for some more detailed info, I have it on my blog. I had a lot more work to do to adapt the bezels to LHD as I'm in the U.S. but some of the info may be useful. The standard black (Version S) bezels are now NLA...the only stock that remains is old stock.

Nice write-up, had wondered what difference (if any) there was between the '97-'99 window switches and the '00 switches - just cost and headaches from what you found.
And geewiz, what a big effort to convert those brand new switches to LHD, I'm sure your Z is the only LHD with those fitted, well done :D

Put your sensible hat on and think, do you really want to spend that much money just to have late model window switches?

Go buy a boost controller for less money and turn it up.

Get an exhaust and make it sound good.

How about an aftermarket steering wheel or a good bucket seat?

Plenty of better mods out there to better your driving experience than something you might only touch a couple of times (if at all) when driving.

My Auto didn't work and my driver's side handle was broken so the update/upgrade just made sense.

For those of you interested I purchased the set plus wiring adapter through Jesse "Streeter Corporation" via Z32 Zone http://www.z32-zone.com/dressedup.html

Cost a total of $550 landed to my home address.

The harness bypasses the power window amplifier:

    I reckon they look great.
