Has anyone experienced the issue where a window does not wind up the last 1-2mm? My passenger window will stop a tiny bit short on its own unless I grab it and help pull it up at the same time as the motor. I was hoping it was a simple fix and someone could tell me where to adjust the runner, etc before I pull the doorskin off and adjust everything the wrong way. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
does it go all the way up with the door open. if so then the angle may be out of adjustment, otherwise I would look for loose fixings on the window and runners, these can allow the window to go slightly askew and jam as it goes up. final option is the motor is getting weak and does not have the required power to go up.
Just remembered that Trent (remember him but forgot his forum name) had a window issue that he fixed without extra parts. I might be having a weak motor problem? ?? It goes up all the way but very slow compared with the driver's side.
It just slows down and stops that tiny bit short, unless you lift it by hand as well. Might try and spray a bit of silicone on the rails, etc.
when you lift by hand does it only assist the motor or is the an amount of movement that occurs without the motor turning.
you can try the silicon spray, on the rubbers/felt runners often graphite powder is better (should be available at repco etc) the other things to look for then is alignment - but it does sound a bit like the motor may be getting tired.
Could be a broken upper guide pin, a plastic threaded pin witch is attached to the glass and is screwed to the runner roller pin witch runs in a location guide for the window. The plastic bit are known to break. There is a article in the Tech section on how to fix the problem.
