    Yeah that makes sense.

How strong are your valve springs? Not too crazy ?

man what the ****! I didn't even know you'd done that before. that seriously sucks for you considering you're already on your... actually I don't even know how many engines you're on.

please let us know everything you find. I have jun cams and BDE gears sitting here about to go into my motor.

while the big question is what part is at fault, the second question is who pays for the repairs...

Why you selling turbos? Going bigger?

Sucks about the cam especially since it's the second time

I have a sneaking suspicion he will be looking at 63's for the work he intends in doing ;) ((unless that path is altering))

However I'm also curious on results as I'm sure your aware of the gears I run and cams and spring/valvetrain.
Let's hope I don't follow suit and snap one..
P.S. Nice to finally see this in person even if in pieces.

Checked here expecting to see some new pics of the beast, but instead read that you've had the cam gear snap yet again. I can only imagine the way you must have felt when it happened and you popped the bonnet. I have a headache and it's not even my car!

At least the bottom end it fine. I hope you find an answer to why this would be happening continuously.

I'm fairly certain Black beast, Procky and i all have the same or very similar valvetrain

    ...-Jun 66 (264) cams
    ...-Ferrera valves
    ...-Bde gears

It can't be the lobes because that's just a clearance issue, perhaps the Ferrera springs differ in tensions to the Jun springs ?

I'm not sold on a solid tensioner as there is no give (tensioner) and load at certain stages of rpm puts stress on studs cams etc .

GTX2863r is the choice as it virtually will spool the same and will make and easy 500rwkw consistently ..(top end GT28RS is lacking)

2867r is getting too big for the hotside and without pushing it over 30psi don't see the point with the extra lag .
IMO NS111 turbine wheel with .64 is reaching its limit with the 2863r

there must be some strong forces happening and I can't pin point anything because others have run the same ...the only thing that isn't changed or different is the gears .
I haven't looked into the JUN springs difference .

That's crazy man... Stick with my lighter non vct gears I think... Maybe some sort of resonance occurring. Have you seen any cams breaking on US sites? Wtf

    Edit:I post too slow ^
I think he runs a ross balancer, I would be amazed if a drive pulley could affect the cams like that since the only solid link between the pulley and cams is the block/heads.

I wonder if getting some x-ray diffraction tests done would be able to tell you whether its a torquing force or bending force that starts the cracks?

Not acting as if i know anything on any of these subjects, but in mind of the cams, it should take a large amount of pressure to snap a cam, so it must be the actual cams absolute weakest point *altogether - and as noted, the combination of weight, - just pushing the components just that little bit too far ?...which would suuuuuck!
-Unless something is out of balance ?

Surely the sudden rotational forces endured on the Cam gear are not that of a greater force, ..nor the down force ?

    --ermmm...Vct kicking in ?

...I have a Rossi balancer and if i rightly recall you asked for a custom one to be made Black beast ? Are you confident in the factory customizing ? - There's no way there would be an out of balance on the rossi because the harmonics are in a different direction.

Too snap a cam ? ...and the re-ocurring to both the JWT and Jun
    ???

...Hopefully my new set of 3rd elements don't need sending back

What does Jp think man surely this can't be the first time ! Might be time to ditch the vct maybe . Doesn't the slot car run 4 exhaust cams ?
To snap two sets of different cams is crazy . The other set that snapped was that the vct cam aswell ?
