I'm aware the turbos are the same frame size, would it be possible to fit the 2860RS cores into the 2560r turbos?

Kicking myself I never bought them in the first place..

If anyone wants to swap some 2860RS's for my 2560r's, pm me, lol

The wheels are larger so the housings will need to be machined out to fit them.

Cheers, not worth the cost then.

If you change your mind down the track SRB-2NV is having the GTX cores put in his, billet wheels can handle way higher speeds.

So they are all the same frame size?

    Gtx cores are expensive...

different sizes, turbine and compressor sizes are different..

but compressors are almost identical.. main different is in the T28 turbine side,
i don't think you can machine out the iconel rear housing?

how much power you chasing? you can almost crack 500rwhp with 2560s

Basically this, the GTX housings are more advanced and have antisurge for the compressor but the wheels can be put in the older housings with machining. (Apparently, ask Nem or search for his posts to find out who was doing the work)

I think the RS has antisurge housings too so if you're going to operating near the surge line selling and upgrading might be better than modifying. That's all academic since you said not worth it anyway but the info's there.

Thanks guys, but I have a stock engine with bolt ons.
2560's, 555 injectors, 3 inch ams dumps, selin, nistune, exhaust.
I think 400 rwhp is about the limit without porting the heads, etc? Easiest upgrade for me would be 2860RS's.

    Ah well.

nah, wind up the boost on the 2560s.. your turbos wont be your restriction.. you will probably run out of injectors

is your motor 25 years old or been refreshed?
if its still the original, you will probably also run out of compression soon enough

only thing porting and bigger cams do is reduce the manifold pressure for a given power level, and achieve that power level at a different RPM.. your turbos on your engine will probably need to be at 25-26psi to reach say 450hp where those turbos made that power on mine at 19psi

youll love em.. those turbos are so responsive on a stock cammed motor!

Yeah, the 2560r's were on my old fully forged balanced engine, which had oil burning and rattling issues and finally blew a head gasket due to a cooling system leak.

I have purchased a standard refreshed TT engine, throwing it in soon. Going to tune to a maximum of 20 psi after run in (no forged pistons).

    Looking forward to it!

Fingers crossed this one is ok...
