    Lol that's hilarious mr. stock.
I have a stock spare ECU (auspec) however the fuel injection circuit needs to be re-soldered, easy repair but lazy :p

    Ahaaaaa, an explanation at last.

Will see if I can find an Auspec bin file for you. Karl can burn it for you.

That POS is plug in so you don't need a new ECU. Just unplug the old one and insert the new.

I haven't got an NA Auspec Bin you can use. BUT I spoke to Bigcol who has one in his car.

If you can get a copy of full Consult you could nick over his place and download the BIN out of his car and get it burnt. Failing that I think I have an NA auto ecu Jspec which will prob be fine, now we know you have a steaming pile of crap in your car which is causing the problem.

Would it make any difference if he is running his SAW

No difference in the bins other than the auto has a check box ticked for a dtc error relating to trans. Use a manual bin if you have one.

    Update!

Well this threads title really doesn't explain whats within ;)

But an Update.....I finally ran my tank down the the last quarter and as usual filled up from there. I grabbed some Shell V-Power and did some hwy K's to visit the folks up north (2hrs Drive). Never a second of Ping, and ran smooth and sweet! did 9.2L/100Ks.

Even once I got off the hwy and was doing the usual country type driving (making a turn and accelerating up through to 100km/h from low speed) it still didn't ping.

This is all with my dodgy ECU Chip still.

Very early days though as perhaps the last quarter left in the tank would of still contained Octane booster so perhaps there was enough of a percentage to stop the ping....who knows but I guess as this tank goes down or a second tank of V-Power will prove any theories.

parker Been around for a bit

    This is great news

Those powerchips (that exact brand and I'm sure many of the other off the shelf types) Are just a LOAD OF HOT COCK! I used to have a mate who was as dumb as a hampster and tried to tell me how much better his xr8 was with powerchip. It made 190kw before he installed it, so I suggested he go get it re dynoed. It made 182kw. I laughed. And when I finished laughing. I laughed some more. They are stupid.

Anyway stoked that you fixed it :)

To be honest Parker I haven't done anything yet lol I've just ran some octane booster the first tank w/vpower and now just vpower. So we shall see how it pans out.

I'm still going to swap that POS chip out for sure!

In case it hasn't been mentioned the ECU does not control the timing. What the ECU is saying is that it "thinks" or has been set to expect the idle timing to be set at 20 degrees. The extra 5 degrees over the manual to account for the extra load of the auto box. If its in a manual set the timing via the CAS and timing marks at 15 degrees and leave it.

Yes quite interesting...Especially the part about the AIV's...Mine being a 93' it didnt come with AIV's which would mean the 90 AusSpec ECU I found will have the AIV's tuned in...I wonder how that will effect things?
