It's something best for a shop to do but if you have a torque wrench (or a good 'feel') it's tighten 50in lbs back off 2 1/2 turns. You basically tighten the band all the way up, then back it out the 2 1/2 turns out....the Ibs applied when tightening is required as you can over tighten the band to the point of damaging!

Is there a link or site I can see pics or vids to help me decide if I would even tackle this sort of thing ..? Apparently it isn't that hard to do but I can't find anything on it .. Also what type of box is our tt auto ? Just incase I have to start looking for another ..?

The adjuster will be on the outside of the trans, I believe it's on the passenger side(?) I can't find a write up either on this. I get my Auto serviced at a shop, mainly because its been reco'd there and it has 2 years warranty.

    It's a RE4R03A.

Just stop mucking about and take it to a shop...guessing games will end there. And they will give you a better understanding on if you should reco it or not

    Auto Transmission Fluid Smell?

If you google automatic transmissions you will find information like this:

Even very dark automatic transmission fluid does not necessarily indicate a problem with the transmission.
Even very dark fluid, with no other systems or indicators does not mean there is a problem.
Fluid that has not been replaced for 100,000 miles will often be very dark.
The automatic transmission may also still be in good condition.

Restriction of the automatic transmission filter is much more of a problem than dark fluid.
This is another reason why automatic transmission flushes are ineffective.
Replacing dark fluid and not the filter will not help.
With very dark fluid, it may also take more than one service for the color to return to normal.

Black, burned automatic transmission fluid does indicate another problem.
Burnt fluid will be almost black and have a strong burned smell.
If the fluid is burnt, simply changing it will do no good.
Burnt fluid is a symptom and indicates other problems.
The fluid is burned because a failure has occurred.
A few possible causes include slipping clutches, a failing torque converter or bad solenoids.
There will often be other symptoms, such as slipping.
A proper diagnosis and repair can prevent further damage.

    This could ...

be possible, does the Z32 box have solenoids?
In addition, the Auto ECU can be checked for fault codes with ConZult.

Maybe worth checking before investing in a replacement box.
An auto transmission specialist would be able to check them, they can also perform pressure tests.
