It's time to try to part ways with my Z (again!) since I'm back on Aus for about 2 months, unlike 2010 when I only had a few weeks. Apologies for leaving the last interested folks hanging in 2010 but life got busy, I fell out with people, etc, etc and it basically got too hard to sell a car remotely.

Car still runs great and is as awesome as the day I bought it, just more comfortable. The specs are as follows:

    Basic specs
1989 2 seater TT 5spd slicktop, gunmetal grey. Bought with no interior, but I have replaced it all except audio bits and the clock (but harness has been re-connected if you want to fit them). Interior is in great condition and includes leather seats with no rips or holes just a few driver?s seat surface cracks, genuine Z mats, genuine spare tyre with Z jack, etc, etc. No holes in trim or anywhere else, except where the rear strut tower brace needed to protrude out of the trim covers. Has about 116000ks on the dial.

Some other bits on the car...It has wiring and small motor set-up to spray water on the intercoolers, but needs a tank and tubing. Battery is a new RedTop R34 that is cabin mounted. Car is fitted with a top quality alarm/immobilizer with remote door lock and all the trimmings, like kicking in after the turbo timer has done its job. Buyer can also have the old (but very light) Recaro seats with genuine Recaro seat-mount adapters.

Depending on price offered I will throw in a new Racelogic unit.

Paint and body is original and very good for its age.

Car has oil and filter changed every 1000km, is regularly started and driven, and has never been abused. Only top quality oil, radiator fluid, etc used.

Car has no A/C or HICAS or Cruise Control.

    No RWC supplied.

Have receipts for everything I've spent.

Will make a great track car and could still be road registered.

Comes with a Japanese version AND an English version of the programming software for the HKS FCon ECU. Believe me - this is very rare software which cost me a pretty penny.

Just the more exotic bits in this car are worth more than the asking price, so you can buy it and part it out if you want to make a few bucks.

Selling for $22k. May throw in extra goodies to the right buyer that doesn't waste my time or bust my balls. I prefer a Vic buyer so I can give them info as I remember it or find goodies to give them.

BTW: The car was inspected by my insurer Shannons as soon as it was registered and there were no hassles on getting the agreed value of $35k. Since going overseas I have progressively dropped it, and is now at $20k since it does so few kms/yr it was not worth the extra premium costs.

I will put up some current pics eventually, but nothing on the car has substantially changed so the above pics still provide a fairly accurate representation.

Email serious enquiries to vr300zx@yahoo.com.au as I'm rarely on the forum. I will be quite busy for some weeks (so excuse any delay in replying), but thought I would get the ball rolling.

    Thanks for reading my blurb.

    Hey there Martini Z!

I'm a long time missing from the forum, so a long time no speak! Hope all is good.

Glad you still remember the car...an accurate description by you if I ever heard one. Thanks for the kudos! :D

If there are no buyers for the car and if I end up with enough time, I may take the beast apart. If I do, you've got first call on any of the bits ... my thanks for always being a great fellow forum member.

The HKS Fuel Pressure Gauge has been replaced with an identical one.

Thanks Nengun! Turned out to be quite pricey due to the seller's behaviour, but Nengun's customer service was excellent.

Some of the goodies I will throw in - assuming I can find them! - if the car is sold at the asking price are:

    - HKS FCon software and cable
    - Racelogic Traction Control (NIB)
    - Recaro (old) seats and the genuine Recaro seat rails
    - OEM gun metal grey nose panel
    - OEM rear 300zx panel (light-up genuine Altia panel already on the car)

...and maybe some of the below can be in the discussion:
    - AbFlug Gate Shifter
    - Full set of F40-style Modena wheels with near new Hankooks
    - Engine Preluber (NIB)
    - OEM raised spoiler
    - Oil pressure sender (NIB)
    - Fog lights
    - 3rd brake light strip (NIB)
    - Water pump (NIB)
    - Clutch Master Cylinder (NIB)

I'll list other goodies as they come to mind or I locate them.

    HKS Fuel Pressure Gauge (NIB)

Same as gauges fitted except it has white numbering. Hard to find nowdays.

An additional spare wheel with tyre - never used, looks new.

I have had flanges put on the screamer pipes and the exhaust. I have also had connection tubing manufactured so the pipes and exhaust can be plumbed together for registration purposes.

And of course, removed for racing. ;)

Extra rear parcel shelf in great condition. The black material covered bit that most people mount their amp.

S2 Climate Control Dash Pod (w/amplifier)

Still need to find it, but sure it's somewhere in the garage! :(

6pk of coil pack connectors (NIB)

PRICE CHANGE!! Wanted $22k now want $26k

Just to be different, the price has gone up! From $22k to $26k.

Shock horror! 'Why would you do that' you ask?

I want to empty out the garage so the new purchase price includes a 6speed HKS dog-box and triple plate clutch that can handle 1000hp+. The 6spd has zero kilometres since being professionally rebuilt by a V8 Supercar gearbox specialist.

This is a bargain...IF you can find an identical gearbox (probably condition unknown) with the clutch, it may well cost you more than half of my asking price for this entire package.

If the gearbox doesn't interest you, then ignore this add-on and we stick to $22k. If you want just the gearbox and clutch it will cost you $26k BUT will come with the above grey slicktop for free. ;)

    Est. power figures

Ok. I was hoping to avoid this avenue as the last time I posted this dyno sheet it started a sh!t fight.

Before looking at the below sheet and asking 'why should I believe it', 'why won't you dyno the car in Oz', etc I will say this to those who do not know:

    1. The car was imported by J-Spec
    2. One of the owners of J-Spec is the founder of this aus300zx website, Ben Lippa
    3. Ben is the one who imported the car for me and sourced the below dyno sheet from the Japanese owner
    4. Ben has to my mind no reason to lie as with or without this dyno sheet he had people queuing up to buy this fairdinkum beast. Some of these people are still current members of the forum.
    5. My previous black TT slicktop Z was imported and then modified by Z Shop with a chip by Bob-in-Oz (Hitec) and was brutally quick. As the owner of both Zs at the same time I can swear that this car leaves my old Z for dead - it is a whole new level of animal. Dog-boxes, monster cams, huge turbos, etc are not usually put on cars that can't reach 500rwhp, I would argue.
    6. Consequently, I see no reason to thrash this car - I have never thrashed any of my cars, by the way - just to produce a HP figure and effectively show that 'mine may be bigger than yours'...I'm not interested in that sh!t and don't get off on it. So, if you're intersted in buying it come for a drive in this Z (even at a modest 0.4Bar) and you'll see what I mean about this being in a different league.
    7. Lastly, if you think Ben is full of sh!t and would put his reputation and that of his business on the line to make what was already a certain sale or for me, then feel free to shoot him a PM or email.

Hope this helps. If not, ignore this thread and go buy something else. ;)

Just to clarify any suggestion of not being 'true blue'

I am selling the car with the same information that was supplied to me when I bought it. If I had made the demands suggested above I would have been told to bugger off, as is the case with all private transactions.

If someone wants to test it for mechanical defects, pinging, compression, rust, etc then feel free to come see it and check those things out before purchase. We'll then go for a drive and you can judge the car for yourself. If it does not live up to HP expectations, even in its pedestrian state, then walk away. As an adult be responsible for your own decisions, actions and purchases; no one is twisting your arm to buy anything.

If you want proof of HP from a local dyno then that is something you can do after you buy it. You can tap into the HKS FCon Pro and tune it to a razor's edge. Personally I do not know how to do it and am not willing to have a dyno guy screw with it as he learns how to use HKS Powerwriter.

However, if any of this does not contain enough hand-holding so doesn't suit you then ignore this thread and buy something else.

Price change. Must sell by 24/5.

In addition to the car detailed above you'll get:

    - HKS FCon software and cable
    - Racelogic Traction Control (NIB)
    - Recaro (old) seats and the genuine Recaro seat rails
    - OEM gun metal grey nose panel
    - 6spd HKS dog-box with triple plate clutch
    - HKS Fuel Pressure Gauge (NIB)
    - Additional spare wheel with collapsible tyre - never used, looks new
    - Extra rear parcel shelf in great condition
    - S2 Climate Control Dash Pod w/amplifier
    - 6pk of coil pack connectors (NIB)

    $22k.

The gearbox alone is worth the bulk of the price, so this is a bargain.

Out of time to sell the Z...I'll try again some other time

Thanks to all those who showed interest, but unfortunately I need to pull the plug as I'm out of time.

PS: Weird thing is...I need to sell it but I'm relieved when I don't. I think I've progressed from having the 'Z bug' to having full blown 'Z mania'!

    A long time between drinks

Car and accessories back on market.

I'm home for a couple of weeks as of today. Hopefully something can be done pretty quickly.

Price is stated above but will negotiate. Nothing has changed from the above except for adding very few kms to ensure the car does not sit idle for longer than a few weeks at any one time.

About to give it a change of fluids (Amsoil, top-notch coolant, etc) when I have time.

PM me or email at vr300zx AT yahoo dot com dot au

Thanks for the PMs and emails...

Sorry to those who asked, but can't sell the spare bits yet as need to 'throw them in' when negotiating a sale. If the the price is right, that is.

I have someone coming to see the car Tuesday seemingly willing to buy at a fair price, so will keep you posted.

Just to breakdown and reinforce some info...

Gearbox (fully rebuilt by Ivan Taylor of V8 Supercars), triple plate clutch and 2way diff alone are worth about $10k-ish IF you can find them.

So that leaves a pretty heavy-duty grunt Z with all the bolted on goodies and go fast bits selling for about $10k-ish or best offer. Seems fair to me considering the money I've poured into the car and the other bits that will come with it.

Sorry also about no pics yet. I've just got it up and going so still need to wash off 3yrs worth of garage dust after I service it (time permitting).

    Cheers

Still for sale if the current transfer can't be sorted out by tomorrow. Nothing wrong with the car, but buyer wants a RWC which I would have to hunt down, etc.

I'll post an update about the sale / no sale but wanna ensure everyone knows the status in case there is any interest.

Again - great car, lots of grunt, BUT NO RWC.

Needs to go before the end of week unless I can change my travel arrangements.
