It's those fancy coloured smoked tyres the drift guys use, right?

Lol, nah it'll all come off. If I doubt crack open the old tyre black paint tin haha.

Have to refurb the rims anyways. So see what eventuates.

Oh wait, second pic. No its acrylic. Not what i ordered from the paint store, but his fk up meant my gain. They reduced the price dramatically just to sell it to me. So high quality paint with a heap of expensive additives... ;)

So yes for me it means more work, but i dont care. Sanding is sanding.

The finish is achieved by using their premium high shine thinners and super clear acrylic lacquer. It is needing a good wet sand to bring the shine right up.

    - adjusted tps
    - took off afm
    - tinted rear window and quarter windows all by myself
    - put on rear infil panel
    - put on rear 'Twin Turbo' Badging
    - cleaned all the parts out of the car
    - put on rear hatch lining panel
    - removed rear wiper motor and installed super awesome delete kit (a plug)
    - put a new style , white CZP sticker, angled in top left corner of hatch window
    - chocked on torch while holding it in my mouth to put on superfast awesome CZP sticker just as a car was driving by, can only assume a guy gagging and spitting standing alone in a street beside his car must have come across like i was trying to deep throat the torch. very awkward situation.
    - stood back and looked at how cool CZP sticker looks on the hatch

attempting to set the timing on thursday, hopefully we can bring this beast to life!

Out with the old. In with the newer.

It feels a little like Christmas.

These are Tein springs on AGX shocks. As seen they are a lot shorter then the original springs. We already had the shocks on, fyi. I thought they would have lowered it. And possibly too much. However, this was not the case. They however have firmed everything up which can only be a positive step forward. Albeit I wanted a little more low. I'm pleased with the enhancements. They may drop more once seated and out driven on. But for now it is what it is. I stood on the front wheel arches and rocked the car with my body weight. While the rear with the old unchanged springs shimmied around. The front was steady. It felt rather responsive. Can't wait to drive it again :)

With aftermarket springs often the spring rate is stiffer/firmer. Although they are physically shorter, they don't always compress/bunch the same as a standard spring under load... hence the difference in height isn't always translated into vehicle drop.

Yeah, i know what youre saying. Without specified specs regarding the shocks and springs, i was going by the previous owners reports as saying the springs on the old tein shocks made his car sit really low.

But i think the reasoning behind this is that the inserts in the teins were shot. I inspected them last night and they were dead. Wouldnt damper anything. But installed on the newer AGXs they seem to sit fine.

    See what happens i guess.

My bits for my engine build arrived a few weeks ago, so the build on my 700hp engine has begun. Target is 11.0 quarter miles on pump gas, hopefully via a modified TT trans that works like a factory one but handles lots more power, in a 2+0 hardtop that essentially looks standard.

I've commissioned Mungy Z to do the build for me, since I'm more than happy with his attention to detail and the feedback from other people who have had work done by him

    The bits:

getting my interior all together again. nitrous main line is hidden under carpert and can be completelty tucked away out of view. waiting on my last lot of fittings to complete the instull but alot of time consuming work.

not sure if I will make it in time to the drags before they close. If I dont I will put the blitz turbo kit on which will no doubt be fiddly and require alot more time.

Christmas is overrated. Tech days with mates reap more "wanted" presents.

the zipties are just extras, the cooler itself is bolted to an extended metal tray, where the oil cooler resides.

So my newly purchased TBO skirts arrived. Thankyou Chrispy for selling them to me and dropping off at Mikes. Mike thankyou for being a depot for a bit. And thankyou Michael for spending the time and effort to package them up safely for their journey to Adelaide.

    Appreciate all your help guys!

So, yes, lunchtime i took them home and placed on the car for a looksie.

Bit hard to see, but with the OEM mudflaps colour coded, it should tie in well together.

Last piece of the kit is to attach a Stillen Type 3 Urethane front lip. Then top side there is the spoiler im getting from Mmarschall, which is the same as Tekkys old red zeds spoiler. Still none the wiser what the brand is. But its imported from Japan and looks really good!

    Spoiler will look like this.

Lip should end up looking like this.

drove it for the first time in 2 months. the fully manualised c4 isnt very streetable as it literally clunks every gear especially reverse - the drive made me smile and it was all worth it.

got a whole bunch of parts from summit so the car will be going back up on the stands to fit more parts.

outside looks completely stock including wheels now so going for the sleeper look. nitrous purge might give it away though
