My door open light constantly stays on..
I am guessing it is the door switch that is being held open, I have tried looking around on my door, were would I find the door switch ?

There is a black rubbery little push button below the door latch mounted on the frame, maybe there is too much gap and the door doesnt push it in when it is closed.

It may also be the Hatch switch(this is also described as a "door").

Dammit ! that means I have to buy some doors...:(

I tried fiddling around today, and didn't have much success. Maybe the light out of the cluster is the only way to go.

problem will most likely be in the door switch relay or diode block. Located behind the passenger side trim panel. PITA to get to in a 2+0.... even worse in a 2+2. From there, you can also test the wiring for all of your individual switches.

Theres a test procedure in the manual. Should be able to find it online

Its not THAT hard to get to in a 2+0, I ran a new wire to mine when fixing the wiring in my old Zed and it was easy to get to - hell brake pads were more effort :-/

may be a stupid question here...

BUT .. when the door is open and black sensor depressed does the light go out ?

And/or when your doors are closed and your outside the car, is the rear of the door aligning witht he body of the car or is it out by even a few mm..

    IF so..
unscrew your door latch on the body of the car, and move it inwards towards the center of the car a cm, screw it up and close the door and try it again. ?

Mine has this issue ever so often... STUPID SCISSOR DOORS!

Just to confirm where is this door sensor?
I am suspect it is on the bottom of the chassie, and it is black and round. Just need to confirm though.

If anyone has a pic it would be great!

It's NOT a Sensor, it's a spring-loaded, rubber-covered On/Off Switch on the door frame(just below the door catch)and there is one on each door(also on the rear Hatch.:eek:

On each door its a plastic switch covered by a rubber boot.

The boot one is attached to the latch mechanism.

They run to a relay that runs up to the interior light. When a door is open, they trip the relay which turns the light on.

Found. They seem to be both going in and out fine.
I am guessing it is probably my boot, since I got hit in the rear quarter my boot always takes a good slam to lock in, but even then the rear boot light goes off...

    It is much annoying!

Problem wont be with your boot switch then.
If youve located your door switches, pull the rubber boot surrounds off. There will be a philips head screw. Undo it, and the switch assembly will pull outwards.

The door switches are spring loaded contacts, which earth out when you open the door. By performing the above process, you're eliminating each of the door switches. Dont be too concerned, the rubber boot surrounds are easy enough to fit again.

IF neither of the door switches are identified as the problem, then it will be most likely be in the diode block and adjacent interior light relay, located behind the trim piece, passenger side.

    Thanks OZX_320!
I noticed when taking off the passengers switch that there was a heck of a lot of clicking and my interior light kept going out then on everytime I adjusted.

The drivers side one had no clicking at all. Does this mean one of them is faulty?

    passenger definitely at fault then.
The operation of the switch is quite basic. A wire, with a spade connector, is fitted to the rear of the switch. When you open the door, the spring loaded rear of the switch mechanism earths out the wire, allowing the light to illuminate.

The clicking you are hearing is the door relay energising.

Passengers was definitely faulty. Bypassing it has completely resolved the issue. Looks like I will need a new switch.

Just a quick question - with the Zeds I am currently having a locking issue. For me to lock my Z doors I must have the drivers door shut. Is this normal in the Z ? As I don't have wireless locking everyday I lock my car I have to manually go around to the passengers seat and lock my door that way as it will now allow me to lock it with the door open. Even using the key and lock I cannot lock my Z from outside. I thought it may of been related to the door switch.. hmm.

My driver door switch is buggered, looked at it this morning and the rubber is all broken and the door light flicks on and off when driving, sometimes even when parked up setting my alarm off a few times in the middle of the night which is fun.

Is there a temp fix before I can buy a new one? Also anyone have the part number? Thanks.

    Ninja edit : Part #: 25368-6P000 I need :)
