OK guys quick question... Doing the pexmod low beam/high beam on at the same time thing... I've located the green wire that I want to splice into. Now splicing into it is a complete prick of a thing... just can't get near the wire to strip it. Can I just cut the wire and earth it? Or will this prevent the relay from operating?
i stripped part of the sheilding off the wire, wrapped the grounding wire round it, chucked a bit of solder, then spliced that into the ground thats running close by, works fine for me, i think having it cut will prevent the relay from working
Use the hot tip of a soldering iron to melt it (top and bottom) and push it back while its still soft, saves breaking any of the strands, what will happen with most other methods. That is it is not meant to be cut, have not done the mod.

Yeah I saw that -easier but a bit more obtrusive. I like the appeal of having the mod in the fusebox. Appreciate the suggestion though
Got it stripped, too dark for soldering in there now though! Have it wrapped nice and tight should do for tonight Will solder it in properly tomorrow
far less obtrusive if anything Requires no alteration whatsover to the OEM loom while creating a less resistive path to ground, which can only be advantageous during the ignition process of the HID lamps (drawing far more than the stipulated 35W)
Must do this. Our headlight relay sometimes sticks and we ether get stuck driving with no lights or sometimes stuck on high beam. Such mod will alleviate this issue for good
A couple of years ago when I followed the Pex mod I found I did not have to do any aditional wiring / earthing (and no relay) If I attached /strapped the High beam HID Ballasts to the rubber Air intake moulding - where I intended to locate the ballasts anyway and then fed the Wires through to the normal globe placement. Worked fine fo me So I had low beams earthed in the Engine Bay highs not earthed in the 'nose cone' and used the rest of the Pex Mod - and have highs on with the Lows (when activated) and the HID Driving lights 'earthed' in the Fog lights. Not sure its 'supposed' to work, but it has done for a couple of years. (I hope I haven't forgotten anything?)
For sure mate. Since when are you looking at coming for a drive... thought you were stuck in a hole up your way and had no way out.
