New Product! 2 Litre Oil Catch Can.

It's so hard to find an oil catch can that's a decent size and still fits in your engine bay. We've found the answer! Our new 2L catch cans are now in stock and great value for money @ $92 inc GST.

Polished aluminium, TIG welded, oil level indicator, screw in push-on fittings, AN fitting compatible, mounting bracket, magnetic drain plug, breather/filter and also block off port if breather isn't your thing! Measures 115mm in diameter and 195mm tall (not including filter).

    you have my attention

will you throw in some steak knives? how many do you have and how long is this going to be open for? dont suppose it comes with a bracket by chance?

how long (many km's) would it take to fill one of these up?

    Im thinking

given that my carbon canister is gone, down there... out of sight and mind, however access would be the problem then.

relocating the battery? to the boot? no my cup of tea, how much loss is in the big thick wire you have to run just doesnt stack up having a battery so far from the thing its power... its inefficient.

In addition to the other questions, I'd be very interested to know what the dimensions of this unit are... Will give a pretty good idea of where the unit might fit...

    Hi All,

I'll try to answer these questions the best I can.

    First of all....
    • No steak knives with this offer (sorry!).
    • Stock has already sold out with HUGE interested from the silvia and skyline forums/owners. I've got another 20 coming in 10 days time.
    • This price will be around for a while, only fluctuating with production costs.
    • Hopefully, you should never fill one of these up. They are designed to catch the blow-by oil from the crank case. If you're huffing over 2L of oil in between services, you may have bigger issues!
    • The product has a bracket welded to it with M6 tapped holes. Just need to find a suitable location. Additional brackets may be required depending on where you install it.

As for location, we all know, with the Z32 there isn't a huge amount of room in the engine bay thus installation of this baby will be fun!

    I would suggest either;
    • Relocating the battery (this will clean up the engine bay a little more and you'll have heaps of room).
    • Removing the EGR, PRVR solenoids, tucking the fusable link into the fender and installing (with a squeeze) into the corner near brake booster.
    • Installing under the nose panel (long breather lines required).

    Hope this answers your questions!

Would it be possible to install it inside the passenger side-well where the AIV crap normally is?

    Cheers,
    Emile

I'm not too sure, probably best to get the tape measure out.... Maybe we can have a contest; best mounting location gets a $20 cash-back! :)

Hey Adam, I'm pretty sure they will. Our new batch is here next week (currently going through customs clearance) so I will check out the thread pitch and check to make sure you can get a AN fitting to suit.
