Hey all, Having a bit of an issue with the silver zed at the moment... Throwing code "Coolant Temp sensor circuit" Thermo fan kicks in as soon as i turn the key... I have tried the following: New sensor (both) New connector (2 wire unit) New ECU ECU still reading the correct temp but throwing a code Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions other than splicing into the ecu wires and re-running new temp connector cable? Any and all feedback welcome
Just to confirm you are getting a code 13? Before running new cable I'd check for continuity between temp sensor and ECU. Also remember you have to clear the codes by disconnecting battery for a while or using consult to do so.
Yup, code 13... Codes will stay present but will say how many starts ago when using conzult. In this case, it pops up with 0 starts ago. ie: Once the problem is fixed, it should say 1,2,3,4 and so on starts ago. Havent checked for continuity, but weird thing is the the ECU is getting a correct temp reading from the CTS yes still throwing a code 13? Hmmmmm!
To rule out the loom as the culprit, consider rigging up a temporary separate twin-core wire from ECU to a new CTS plug. Will cost you all of $10-15 or less in parts. My money is on a short in the loom somewhere.
