Fitted all myself. Pioneer DEH-P9850BT head unit. 2 x 4-channel amps- 1 for speakers and other bridged for 2 x pioneer slimline 8" subs, individually enclosed. Nowhere near the punch of the dual 12's in my TT, but a much smaller install.

Had I known that the slimlines wouldnt fit behind the seats, would have at least gone for 10" subs. Chilledpain's dual sub enclosure looks like a good buy. Suited to 2-seater while leaving considerable boot space

I have mine mounted in a box on the parcel shelf facing the windscreen, I'll take some pics of it when and if i get the chance (broken camera :/). Subs are behind the seats...

Sounds pretty good and its low enough that I can still see my S1 spoiler in the rear view.

My old zed had an amp under the non electric seat. Nothing would fit under my current seats, not even my own hand.

nah, I know nothing about installs..... except they're a PITA. Azzn (think thats his forum name) is the guy to query about audio gear. Do a recent search for a thread by Cruiser where his install was done.
Will put up a couple of pics once the bluetooth transmitter shows up for the factory stacker and its wired in as BT input on the Head Unit. Doesnt look anything special, door and rear speakers within factory housings, thus concealed, amps behind the seats and 2 boxed 8" Pioneer slimlines in the boot. Desperately wanted to go for concealment with this car, to retain somewhat of a factory look...... failed :(

There's no chance in hell of getting amps even to mount under electric seats, so slimline subs are definitely out of the question. Even enclosed 8" are too deep for behind the seats. Will fit within the constraints of the suede/cloth, but take too much of the sliding adjustment away. Fine if you're anything under 5' tall.

Those are a good idea, however there is very little room under a zed seat ^_^ I considered mounting my amps there... but there was not enough room :(

The best ones of these are the focal ones imho :)

Also, if concealment is your goal it doesn't nescessarily mean that you can't put them in the boot. Although mine are pretty obvious with the hatch open (check my sig) when the hatch is closed they are concealed (under the non-glass bit) so they don't stand-out :) There's still plenty of room for stuff too (enough for the targas)

They do come with a full sound system from factory.
*Anything up to 5 speaker bose/clarion/sony system
*Ranging from radio casette, remote stacker control or dual casette and CD units. *Remote amplifiers etc depending on type of factory system.
Rare to find a complete OEM system in a car, even more so if it still works properly 20 odd years later. When we're all buying 350Z's for $2000 for our daily drivers with the Z32 as a weekender, I doubt the factory stereo will be functional.

I have a pair of the 11" Focal Polyglass 27V2s :) in a set of custom boxes that Dad and I made :)

Focal makes some pretty expensive stuff... Their top-of-the-line set of splits is AU$4,899 RRP  They don't come in a box... they come in a metal case! lol
    [IMG]

IMO, the Focal Polyglass range is the best car audio you can get without hitting insane prices :) I would recommend them to ANYONE! I've had just about every type of music imaginable through my system and it's never dissapointed me :)

P.S. If you do buy focal, be careful buying from eBay as I hear there have been some poor-quality copies going around. If you're buying from a western nation then you *should* be fine :)

those look good man, dont have rear chairs to hold the sub in and the tagas are the only thing that ll fit in the boot, think i am going to get the BUS 20 8" under-seat subwoofer with amplifier, just have to do some measurements, cross my fingers and sell some crack on the side :p

good luck with that. Height of the BUS20's is 76mm. Height of 1 of my amps is 50mm and wouldnt fit underneath passenger non-electric leather seat. Even worse under drivers side.

You are kidding me... right?:confused::confused:

If im offered a sub and amp combo for $500, i wouldnt buy it. Not because it's too expensive, but because it will most likely be shit.

  17. Evil Twin

Evil Twin Time to 'Suit Up'!

    i second that.

I have spent the last 2 days fitting most of my stereo in (ex Zook systems for those of you who knew it). Again I have gone for a stealthy install and I have put my Alpine T420 (that drives the fronts) under the passenger seat. I spaced it up with a couple of washers (at the back) and it doesnt fowl with my fat arse in the seat!

The subs are 2x T2's boxed and have an amp rack on the back of the box. The idea is that the whole box and with amps will be removable - yet still have decent sounds from the splits for more spirited driving/cruises ;)

I would post a pic but I blew up my iPhone this morning.
