    Its on carsales
Does anyone know the history or this resprayed auto?
Steven suggested it may have been on the market in Newcastle.
    Is it any good?

My little boy  has got to an age where he wants a zed too, so we are looking for a good NA.

Feedback is that we should get a good NA for about $5000

A convertible with low ks for $6900 might be worth him going into debt for.

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

    You won't get a good N/A for 5k.

    $5k NA

    Won't get one for $5?
    You may be right
But I look at aus specs offered at $8000 on the market for 14 months and
Manuals for sale in Perth for $4200
I watch prices drop from $10k to $7 and still not selling
I talk to specialist tuning houses and they tell me what their customers pay
I see adds on carsales saying they were offered $3500 as a trade

    Don't get me wrong
This means that the Z I bought 12 years ago isn't worth much either

    But I'm Buying Not selling

If someone wants cash for a good car, rather than waiting and hoping for months or years ... They might give a young bloke a good buy

Otherwise we can wait for a few months until the prices drop a bit more and get the same car

Sort of hope I'm wrong from a resales perspective on my TT but I don't think so

    M

I think I should be able to get a really nice one for $5

He's driving a suzuki Sierra now
    Likes his daddy's TT
    Big improvement

We have been looking for a red or silver NA manual and this turned up
    I like the convertibles
Just seemed cheapish ... But I don't like resprays

If / when we find a nice targa

    We grab it
Otherwise the Sierra convertible will do and he takes his date to the year12 formal in a zook

You CAN get a good NA for 5 grand. As long as you know what you are looking at, it should not be a problem. Seeing that you have had your TT for years, I'm sure you are no newbie (compared to some of the younger people hating on this thread).

I'm the bringer of bad news, but these cars do not move on the used car lots. I've seen a few car yards here in newcastle that have TT zeds for around the 11 grand mark, and they will sit there for months. Depreciation really is a cruel mistress, but it only makes it better for the buyers such as yourself. Reality is that these car yards lose money for every 'stagnant' car that sits in the yard, as vehicle turnover is what makes the yard profitable...

If I were a P plater, a relatively rare (albeit yellow) convertible would be a good buy. Keep your heart out of the sale, and know your stuff, and you will have the best chance of a good buy.

Zooks can be tuff. I reckon they are some of the most fun little 4wds out there.

Above is an extreme zook, but a mate of mine has a similar sierra with the hilux diffs, lift, mechanical lockers and a stupid reduction low range gearbox, and it dominates. It's no zed though :zlove:

    I bought this car.

It really should have been priced at about 9k.
I flew to Sydney and drove it back to Melbourne all in 1 day! The car didn't miss a beat the whole trip back, got over 600 klms easy per tank.

Then I found another convertible in Japan so I decided to sell, but now I'm keeping it. Because I got the car so cheap I can afford to do a TT conversion.

    So true!
There is a red TT at narrabri NSW. When it came in it was priced at 20k yeah right. Today its down to $11.500 still not going to move at that price as needs TLC.
