how bullet proof are na diffs (average age/condition for 2nd hand) in a tt putting out ballpark 300 kw?

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

Quite tough (within reason of course, depending on how you treat it)
But quite a few people run N/A diff's in TT's for the ratio. And should be fine for 300kw. :)

    cool

i have a set of leader gears, they are quite expensive, plus it will need a rebuild kit for my tt diff and some one to do the rebuild work, i.e. All that ups up getting close to 2k in cost, so was thinking of a na rear cradle with diff, clean it up, change all the rubbers, change the fluid would be a cheaper option for the same ratio.

Na diffs are good for around 400rwk. plenty strong

just make sure u keep them full of oil... gtrs run the r200 diff.. you can get extra large covers for them aswell.. not 2 mention you can get 1.5way centres for them

could you buy a aftermarket rear diff for a gtr and fit it to the zed then?

and which gtr, just r32 or all of them?

You can get Nismo/Cusco/Kaaz 1.5 and 2 ways for the NA R200V diff (4.083) already. R32 GTR is equipped with a mechanical LSD R200 (diff part number), but the gear ratio is different (4.111). R32 GTS-t comes with an R200V (same part number as Z32) but with an even taller diff (4.363).

I wouldn't imagine there would be any difference in strength between, say, a Nismo 2way for a Z32 or a BNR32...

slot car runs a r200 modded gtr diff. yeh you can fit them . you need a na subframe and kit for it tho.. wont fit in a tt subframe

Bit hard getting Nismo diffs to suit Z32 R200 these days though. I got the last one from Z1. There are different part numbers between the Z32, S13, GTR etc. Dunno why... Might be some difference with the half shafts (nismo centres come with at least one new one for the Z32 R200)

The GTR diff has a 6 bolt halfshaft too, so you need to convert the diff to 5 bolt.

or you could just use a TT diff. they are stronger, and depending on what your using the car for you could get a quaife centre, a 2way or just change to leader gears...

tt diff is one of the largest you can get.. much bigger then a ford 9"

Hey, prettu sure Geoff/Oni fried an R200 diff?

Yes GTR runs R200 but it is mechanical LSD not Viscous like Z32. Slot car is running GTR R200 diff but with custom Kaaz centre and has required some mods to fit....

I know Shifter was running R200 diff from an NA Z32 in his big 400+rwkw build but not exactly driving it hard.

R230 from a TT is going to be the strongest, just need a decent a/m centre like quaife and some leader gears.
