That's it! I'm taking my doors off just to keep up! :p

Pure dedication there Chad, :p You'll fill a spare room with all the stuff before too long.

I found the metal very thin, and decided to Dynamat the whole boot. It REALLY made a huge difference when the bass hits and on the open road. I thought I'd built a better stereo but it just turned out to be the Dynamat.

Where are you putting the spare wheel, or going with the foaming can instead?

lol yeah i have everything i need. everything in parts etc is all new and ready to go on and im talking i just went spastic and purchased everything i need. exterior, interior, engine bay etccc plastics, rubbers, hoses, body parts blah blahhh. parents are skitzing it parts in my room, under the house etc...

yeah i feel that the metal in the zed is bloody thin as. i will be dynamatting a bit more than i did just to lower the frequency the thin metal gives off.... but i am also sound proofing which will help alot too...

hopefully get some more work done this weekend on it

my progress has been really slow atm, women and their ways [TIS]take up all ur free time....

so anyhow few progress pics of what i had been working on the w.end...

firstly bashed the shit out of the wheel well. as you know its far from flat so took a bit of bashing... i then placed a nice thickness of metal plate and welded it in place. then i welded on some little metal bits to stop the battery from moving anywhere... drilled some small holes for the rods to go through, and rebent the stock rods to my desired legnth...

it still hasnt finished but ill get to it. next i will get the oxy out and heat up all that metal around the plate and make the rest all nice and flat rather than how it is all kinked up etc...

im also thinking of welding the rods in place as i dont think itd be a good idea having some holes in the floor where exhaust gases or tyre smoke etc could come in. i yet havnt decided on this so still thinking about it.

after all that has been done ill get some spray deadener and go sick with it in the wheel well and underneath aswell as its all come off from underneath from the bashing and welding...

the top metal brace, i welded another smaller strip on top to stop it flexingg...

clean up the welding then spray it alll but its main parts are done... ill also make the top brace less squarish, it just trim off around the edges abit.

its very strong and doesnt move at all, used all my force to move it and didnt budge a mm.

also took a pic of all the 0gauge hardware for installation.

well i still hope to finish it by this summer lol. Hopefully i do but my main concern is finish the whole inside of the car first. If i only get to finish the whole inside of the car by this summer this so be it ill leave the eng mods untill i have some time off

Why not weld tabs in with holes for the hooks?

I wouldn't weld the rods themselves in, that will limit your choices for replacement batteries down the track.

    dry cell

good idea, either way though i doubt i would be using a bigger battery than this one currently its pretty beefy lol, but thanx i will keep that in mind

Also I know you were asking about current etc a while back, still haven't had the chance to measure on a Z32!

yep, well i went and purchased a 200amp circuit breaker as seen in the pics. hopefully this is high enough... i understand they will take a higher spike in current before they fuse out and i think the car would spike at like 450+crank amps but only for slight second or wateva it does. the circuit breaker would have to take a constant current of 200+amp to fuse out so i think this should be sufficient. still id like to know the spike in current and the constant current the zed runs at if u are able to gain it.

Yeah no probs man. Constant would be nowhere near 200, max I see is close to 40a and that is with rotating lights, high beams, onboard computer etc etc

Also cranking amps is a cumulative measure.

When I fit a starter motor relay to my camry I used a 30a fuse, so 200 I think will be more than enough! But yeah if and when I get the chance I'll send you the specifics.

ye thats the kind of stuff ill be using after i finalise the installation.

ye my battery is 750cca but you dont need a fuse that big, fuses will only blow after a constant power surge rather than a split second surge which is what you get when you crank over the car...

yeah ive seen some guys with these batt setups blow fuses at 100-150amp. so i thought id get the 200, plus i have some large audio gear going in so hopefully should be good.

    Vader Just another guy

    200!

Apparently a 12" shifter is rated at 70A, so that's one BIG fuse.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh shit yeah picked up my rear bar today. looking SCHMMIICKKK. removed all the rocky shit, and has the mudflaps on, no gaps :cool:

he sprayed a shit load of flexi clear in it so it shouldnt chip, crack etc etc. i was sceptible about getting the mudflaps sprayed since they are rubber but he reckons he put alot of the flexi clear in so it shouldnt be a prob...

looks sexy as in person :D:D

bit of orange peel but the whole car once finished is going to be blocked back and then polished etc etc
