Hey guys got a couple of front suspension bushes that are stuffed and giving my wheels mean camber. They are situated fairly low. I looked at some diagrams but couldnt figure out what the part is called.

Got some pics of it hope you can recognise it.

Where do you recommend i source it from?
Anything to watch out for when replacing?

Thanks heaps you guys are always a great help.

They are your Tension Rod Bushes. I seriously doubt that they are making any significant impact on your camber settings, but they sure as Hell won't be helping your handling.

Try CazRacing, UAS or NISSAN. Another alternative is Energy Suspension Bushes.
You could also replace these rods with the Tune Agent alternatives from UAS.

the part number from Superpro/Fulcrum for new bushings is SPF1202K

they are about $35 the pair/ You can get them from Bursons or Repco

    Thanks guys.
I assumed thats what is giving me the camber as thats the only thing that looks out of place. Its getting an alignment after i get the bushes done anyway see if that makes it a bit better and figure out whats happening.

So any helpful hints for removal and refit?

Mate i'm used to the handling of a falcon now i have tt 2+0 manual. The controllability and agility is no match. What amazes me is how easy the 300 feels to drrive quick.

Back to the topic, im off to get the parts. Thanks again!

There are 6 bolts(3 on each rod)that must be undone. 2 are on the opposite end to the bush and are bolted to the Lower Control Arm, the other is through the bush. Remove all of these to remove the Tension Rods(you will most likely need to get the old bushes pressed out by a workshop, and the new ones pressed back in). You can then replace them and tighten the bolts back in place.
Alternatively, if you choose the buy the Tune Agent style Tension Rods, you will not need to purchase the bushes(nor will you have to get the old bushes removed and refitted).
I personally think the second choice is preferable.

Thanks chilli. Got the rods out. Had to push the bottom intercooler pipe out of the way to get the big bolt out. Im in a hurry to get the car on the road i shouldve asked about this earlier and looked into the tuneagent rods.

Repco didnt have it. Bursons has the superpro part number SPF1202K. Took it to pedders and had them press the bushes in. Thanks again tektrader and chilli.

Speaking of the tuneagent tension rods, what do they do?

Convert it to a rose-jointed setup but also give you adjustability

    this will provide responsive steering

however they can be noisey with the roads if you have lots of pot holes and
really not essential unless you are doing lots of track work. they will wear quicker than the bushes.
    just my 2 cents

You are better off with the stock castor rods with urethane inserts unless you have badly bent your car and need the adjustability.

There really isnt an advantage using rose jointed tension rods unless the entire suspension is ball raced and rose jointed which isnt road worthy in any case.

Rose joints do wear out and surprisingly fast. Stock rods are bullet proof.

i wont be doing regular track time (if ever :() so i guess im better off with stock rods but after seeing the results i think i may look into getting all the bushes done with the stock rods, eventually.
the front feels better with the new bushes and its corrected the camber a lot which im not entirely sure if its supposed to, but it did. still need an alignment though. my car is starting to look like a car :D

can I ask what $ Pedders billed you to remove / replace the radius bushes ?

Replacing those will affect toe not camber. If you are new to working on cars I suggest you do some research before throwing money at the car. Lots of people out there will take your money to do what you ask to be done. Whether it solves problems or makes improvements is another matter
