300zx CAS connector GB......

A couple of local blokes have been having trouble with their CAS connectors (which are probably 25yrs old anyway*) so they asked me to see if I could chase up a decent price with our usual supplier.

I told the supplier that most forum members are 'tight arses' now and only buy stuff if it's dirt cheap**and they could get a CAS connector with pigtails from Coz for $US20 plus postage*

The supplier offered us SIX of their Premium CAS harnesses at a price of $AU22ea and they'll include postage

Now that should appeal to the cheapskates amongst us because $US20 translates to about $30 Oz dollars and you still have to add international postage !

Add the fact that the suppliers 300zx colour coded harness with heat shrink tubing and electromagnetic shielding beats the hell out of a connector with some pigtails on it and you have a pretty good deal on offer.

I can't post a picture of the CAS harness at the moment 'cause my Internet Service Provider is useless. I'll post one in a day or so (if I'm lucky)

We already have 2 starters so we only need 4 more to wrap this up

I couldn't download the official harness photo because my ISP kept timing out, so here's an old photo of the one I got from the supplier a long time ago (it is exactly the same Premium harness as the one in this GB)

 

MUST use oem connector for Z32.....

I've been asked why Quick Release connectors were not used on these harnesses.

The simple answer is, that they DON'T FIT

The supplier uses Quick Release connectors wherever possible (for obvious reasons) but on the zed, the position of the CAS necessitates the use of the oem connector

I'm amazed at the 'lukewarm response' to this GB. These things are cheap as chips @ $20ea delivered to your door ! How many zeds on the forum are still using their original (cruddy) CAS connector ?
