    Hey guys,

Planning on dropping my old diff this weekend and chucking my new one in...

Is there anything I should or shouldnt do?

    Recommendations on diff oil etc?

    Any feedback welcome :)

    Cheers!

I'd pull the whole subframe out. That way you won't drop the diff on your chest

I did a writeup on how to pull the subframe, have a search.

Whoa! Didnt really wanna pull the whole subframe

Hmmmm.... I have a jack to lower the diff onto... Is the danger of the diff falling on you the main reason for dropping the subframe?

grab your self a tranny jack attachment for trolley jack. they work awesome.. damn those diffs are heavy !!!..

highly reccomend doing your subframe and diff bushings while your at it !!! makes a hell of a difference

It's pretty easy. You already have to drop your exhaust and driveshaft. All that is left to pull the subframe is the hand brake cables, rear calipers and probably HICAS sillyness. Easy.

And yes, pull the subframe so you don't drop the diff. It's really easy to remove the diff once the subframe is on the floor.

its easy to remove it from the car don't listeen to these guys [TIS]

main things to look out for is the weight of the diff, easier with 2 people, one balancing it on the jack and the second person actually lowering it.

One person job with a jack, watch you don't damage the ABS wires (if fitted )

dropping the diff on your chest isn't as bad as the gearbox, I've done both.. gonna try the engine next :)

id take a gearbox over a diff anyday. the zed one is friggen heavy.. a manual box is a lightweight compared !!
