[VIC] new freeway cruise

just thought alot of talk about a cruise but everyone must be in hibernation. life does not just revolve around summer. so this is my idea ,the new freeway opens up at the end of june. so lets go on a new freeway opening cruise. meet on sunday at say 9.30 am, leave at 10 at exhibition building car park hook onto freeway at carlton head out to ringwood to frankston then to mornington for coffee. then onto portsea or sorrento for lunch. how does that sound, can make firmer arrangments if its a go. if anyone is interested post your ideas and confirmation if you want to be in it. your support will decide if it goes a head the balls in your court guys. hope alot of you can make it happen regards bigmax

Could be in for that. Need to know a date before confirming, and might not bring the zed if it is just a freeway cruise.

rang freeway info line they told me it opens on sunday 29 june at 9.00 am. it will be free for 1 month only, is this date ok as we would be the first car association and maybe first zeds on mass to use the freeway, if that counts for much. i suppose we can have bragging rights at least. if this date does not suit the majority please pick a date that fits you and we can see if we get some idea who can come. a big number of zeds would look impressive me thinks your imput would be good thanks bigmax :zlove:

This would be really neat if the cruise just happened to coincide with the news cameras which are bound to be recording opening day. Might be worth getting in touch with the TV stations to find out what sort of times they have in mind to cover it.
I'll be there, work allowing.

re opening frway

i have been told the opening ceremony, were all the government and those involved in building it is on the 15 june,and the frway will be thrown open to the general public on the 29 june. i would say they will just open some barriers blocking the road at the springvale road over pass. thats were the toll road will start, sorry no cameras will be there i dont think as the road will open up all along the entire freeway. we will be coming from carlton about 10 am if everyone agrees to the meeting point. will post firmer details on route and meeting points if all system are go. if fellow zedders have some thoughts lets here them if the weather is going to be really crap we may have to call it off till a better weekend. we will see i guess it is winter after all cheers bigmax

 

no it's not winter... it's Melbourne you never know even if the forecast is ok. lol I hope we can do this, looking foreward to it.
