I have a 1991 300ZX TT model and need to replace the air con compressor.
Does anyone know of any differences between the two compressors or are thet both the same version.

Also does anyone know or a company that will do compressor rebuilds in Brisbane

Replied in your wtb thread. Easiest way is to ring your local nissan spare parts, give them your VIN number, get the part number and compare.

Did you find any details about your AC compressor on its ID plate?

I love giving my TT Zeds' VIN to the local Nissan dealer. We all do :)

    Hello Mike,
Thank you for your website enquiry.
We appreciate the time you have taken to reach out to us.
We are wholesalers to the licensed automotive A/C repairers in Australia, so don’t supply to the public.
Unfortunately we don’t rebuild A/C compressors, and don’t have access to one of this age.

    IB ?????

I thought the difference was the hose locations? Given the both mount to the same side of the engine, why would the mounts be different?

They compressors are discontinued - if they (nengun) actually have one in stock that'd be something but if they're relying on drop shipping it from Nissan you're gonna be shit out of luck unfortunately

The difference appears to be the location of the ports on the compressor. The LHD one has them beside each other whereas the RHD one has them separated.

    Interesting. Looking at the FSMs
1995 (downloaded) FSM: LHD is DKS-16H( Zexel make) Just hose routing differs for TT and NA
1990 (downloaded) FSM: RHD is MJS170 (Hitachi make) shows only one hose layout
MJS170 is what I removed from my TT car.

Here's a better set of photos of the RHD A/C system http://www.z32photoguide.com/ac.html
The MJS170 must be the core compressor part number as the same one is used on a 1985-88 Subaru XT and the hose pattern looks different. I think the full hitachi part number is MJS170-6FB. There's a manufacturer on Alibaba that claims to make them for $210 ($188 + $22 transaction fees) but the shipping is crazy a $550 - though the shipping cost stays the same for any number of units.

Does anyone have access to the a/c and provide some measurements on it.- like spacing between holes, overall length etc - as I may see if a Sanden one is close enough to fit and do custom hoses.
