    Hi everyone.

I've been wanting to get this posted for a while now. I 'finished' my build about 3 months ago but had to work out some kinks (leaky cam seals, leaky radiator hose, leaky valve over, exhaust leak, slipping clutch... lol) definitely lessons learned here. Anyway, on to the good stuff.

This is my 3rd Z32 (5th Z) and the worst condition car I've ever bought. I wasnt too worried because I bought a 'rough' car knowing I wanted to do a rebuild. I decided to drive it for the summer and start the project later in the year but one day i came home to a huge puddle of coolant under the car so the project started sooner than later...

The basis behind what parts to use (not looking to cheap out on engine parts...) I decided to use Nissan parts unless there was a more durable / superior modern part available at a lower or comparable price.

    OEM wiring harness
    OEM trans/alt harness
    Setrab oil cooler
    Z1 performance street clutch
    Z1 lightweight flywheel
    Z1 short shifter
    Z1 six shooter engine mounts

    Now for some pics:

What happened to the attach a file button? It's still there on the Technical forums. I really dont want to have to upload all these photos to another site and then come back here and copy link after link...

    Am I missing something?

Did you do all the engine work yourself?

    Thanks for the reference rob260!

I did all of the engine assembly, deletes, bypasses, and coolant galley bore.

I sent the engine block to the machine shop for cleaning, honing, checking for straightness, etc. while the heads were only cleaned.

I used POR-15 (paint over rust) ultra high temp paint on the heat shields to limit any further corrosion especially around the bolt holes.

Although I bought new wiseco pistons for the rebuild. I kept he stock pistons. They weren't too pretty so I cleaned them up extra well before going into storage.

I cleaned up my valve covers with some caliper paint. But as you will see, despite claims by the label (Rustoleum caliper paint) once a little gasoline got on it, the paint just bubbled off.

The solution was powder coating, candy red was my color if choice.

The bent valves were a fairly straightforward fix and it was just enough of an excuse to have the valve covers powder coated. After that, it all went back in the Z.

Oh, and also doing a caliper paint / full brake system bleed project this week. Not sure why someone grinded down on the calipers (and did a s#!@ job of it at that...). I got out my dremel and some sandpaper to attempt a correction.

Thanks beaver. Being a perfectionist with OCD, I am often caught up in what I like to call 'analysis paralysis'. But every now and again I get started on a project and the two join forces to create pretty decent homemade items :D (however sometimes it makes one paint and strip calipers 3 seperate times because of dirt, a scratch, and an imperfect finish coat...) lol

Agree fantastic work through out, well done! Is that a molded in Winfactory CSL-R spoiler? More photos of that please!

    Perfect choice on wheels too!
