Looks like the lower half of a veilside spoiler. So what happened, insurance changed their mind on it being written off or allowed you to buy it back? Glad you've managed to hold onto it after all the work you've put in.
From what I have seen on this forum, what he said is it. The top part is missing. You could smooth out those tips and make it tidier, but your damaged hatch looked like it should be tidied up and kept. So not getting the wide body kit?
And here we go Being a metal fab guy, I decided to have a play with the panel to learn a bit about panel beating and beating panels. I bought a cheaper panel slide hammer and went to town. before An hour on the hammer 90% of the damage has been pulled back out. Too hard isn't an option in my books. I'll leave the rest for the panel beater to smooth out and shape profile. Then paint. I'm trying to find what a black 732 zed actually looks like. I'm not sure if mine is a true 732 black. Anyone in Brisbane have one I can come look at?
Wow, some thick bog in that third shot! Now got me thinking what colour our black zed actually is, 732 is the vin plate color code I take it?
I've had the excess waived, I've got the car back, $1200 to buy back, $4000 payout. The vehicle has not been written off, and is not unregistered. I had to fight hard to get this aswell. It was the worse insurance experience I've had. Cant believe I had to fight to get what i wanted. Off to Shannon's now to insure both cars there.
If you have a second car look into veteran, vintage, classic cover. I use it in Vic with RACV, NRMA do it in NSW, would just need to check for QLD. Can't be only car, min 15 years old, 9000km per year (honour system), all mods listed & premium is 1/4 what I paid with shannons!
Yes. I too left Shannons after some displeasure with their service after many years of being with them. Moved all 3 cars over to RACV, each one getting the same cover as Shannons (and better in some regards), but for less money. The biggest was the Zed. Going from $1200/year with Shannons to $278/year with RACV VCC, with a much higher agreed value.
Yeah, the vin code is 732. Mine has had a respray, its black mettalic, though I think its missing the pearl. The painter yesterday said it had a pearl, though the spare fuel flap i've bought has more metallic and pearl in it. So I don't know whats actually right. So shannons isnt the way to go?
So the tape looks like a good match for black 732 Visit your old insurer and point to the car (parked across the road) let them know how wrong their insurance assessor was. You are driving the car around so soon and it will be sorted very soon. They got it wrong and lost a customer
It is like magic, you have rescued her. She is better than she was. Have I just watched an episode of Car SOS or For the Love of Cars?
Just read this thread from start to finish. Great job, the paintwork looks mint! What methodology did you use to get rid of the orange peel on the doors? Pics required of the Nismo wheels fitted, stat.
#leave me alone, I know what im doing! Chemical guys 5050 limited edition. Want detailing done on your car, msg me.
I havent done anything with the nismo wheels yet. Ive been preoccupied with other things. I need wheel nuts and spacers first.
