Many thanks to Mark (Jedi-77) who organized an excellent day, and also to all who attended.

Unfortunately we were plagued by a bit of light rain for periods and also stubborn drivers refusing to use slow turn out lanes. But other than that it was a great day driving great roads and catching up with old mates and meeting new ones.

Highlight of the day was the tech day at Apollo Bay golf course where RedZedMikey locked his keys in the boot of his convertible. Unlike other zeds, convertibles don't have the manual lever to open the boot - only an electrical switch in the centre console.

RACV turned up and was of no help and wanted to send a locksmith from 100km away which is when we McGyvered a solution by pulling out the stereo console, centre console, applying 12v to the release switch which opened the boot and we retrieved said keys. Enthusiasts - 1 ; RACV - 0!

I didn't take any pics, so those of you who did post em up!

I didn't get too many either, was going to leave from Todd Rd but work got changed from 1:30PM to 4PM and gave me enough time to go as far as point danger. Good catching up with everyone.

Turnout was much better than expected!

really liking the 2 below photos, if only Jake parked his green one in between this group we'd have completed the whole set of colours :D

Many thanks for another great cruise

This really was a great day out, I didn't get any photos sorry but, just admired all the different and clean z'. Once again Mark and with the help of Col put together a great route and cruise!! It was a pity about the weather and slow ignorant rock piling hippies, ;) but all in all a great day and nice cruise once again!! And next time Mike let me know and I'll Park my skittle wherever you like!! Haha. Thanks again guys and really look forward to the next one!!

    Had a great day...

Had another fun day, but I hardly took any pics !!! I'll process the ones I've got and get them up eventually:)

Thanks to all that came and made it a great day. Big thanks to BigCol for his help on the drive. We shared many phone calls on the drive to make sure that everyone was together, or to let me know if someone had accidentally broken off from the group.

We tried something new with the first part of the cruise, heading up to Point Arlington and then down the coast. I did enjoy the drive but I think it ended up being a little too long. What are peoples thoughts on this? Happy to take criticism so we can make next years GOR cruise even better. Thinking for next year we just barrel on through straight to Torquay / Point Danger and then onto the Great Ocean Rd, just like the GOR cruises of old.

Pity about the rain. I think that really dampened the event (excuse the pun :)). But out of our control. Not only did it make things slippery, but just made all the other slow drivers in their SUVs and vans drive even slower!!!

One of the highlights for me was the spontaneous tech day at Apollo Bay where we managed to use some ingenuity to get Mikeys boot open and retrieve his keys. Another great example of the fine camaraderie on both this forum and the VIC300zx Facebook page. I also hope Sarah managed to get home in a timely manner from Barwon Downs. She posted on VIC300zx that she had broken down, so off we headed from Apollo Bay to Barwon Downs to find her konked out on the side of the road. Unfortunately that was going to involve a more serious tech day, so a tow home was required.

All in all a great day, looking forward to cruising with you all again sometime soon.

    Cheers

Like Mike I unfortunately only got to do a half cruise to point danger but was a great way to spend a Sunday morning! Numbers were loads better than expected, but that's the gor cruise for you!

Just a couple photos from me at point danger, looking forward to Mikey's from the drive down in the camera chase car / vert!

Sorry Mark, forgot to say thanks for organising. I enjoyed the change but would just say it was a decent stretch between loo breaks on bouncy roads...
    Thanks again!

So its my turn to post up my rundown of the event and post the small amount of photos I took on the day. I apologise it has take me almost a week to get around to posting them up I've been a little slack and work/family life has been getting in the way but its to be expected.

Anyways so I wanted to thank Mark aka Jedi-77 for organising and running the cruise this year. Its not an easy task taking over from Kingy and BigCol and running the biggest 300zx cruise in the Victoria and I think you did an outstanding job and I enjoyed the day regardless of the weather conditions thrown at us.

Its funny but after attending ever GOR cruise since 2007 I actually missed the todd road meeting point and had to wait on the side of the freeway ahead of the everyone until they caught up to me at Laverton. Once I saw the surprising large convoy of Z32's cruising down the Freeway, I took off and joined everyone glad to be cruising in the Z with all the other Z32's once again.

The initial leg of this years cruise saw us head to Torquay but we went around Geelong past Point Arlington which I had never been to before and it was nice change of scenery for the most part. Once we got to Point Danger in Torquay everyone seemed to be glad for the rest stop after a hour or so long drive, which we would normally do in half the time via the freeway but it was needed due to a large car event closing down the freeway we would normally take and would have slowed us down even more.

Once we made it to Point Danger I finally got to meet and greet everyone who was attending the event.

MikeZ32's new power plant, he said he likes cable ties LOL but we were all very happy and impressed with his new look bay. Great effort Mike.

We quickly jumped back on the road heading to the main destination for the cruise the Great Ocean Road. Unfortunately as others have said when we did finally get to the GOR we started getting patchy rain all along the GOR:(. This meant some of the general public using the road decided not to use the slow vehicle turn off lanes which did slow our progress a little bit as we traveled to Lorne and finally Apollo Bay.

Once we made it to Apollo Bay we parked our cars in our usual Z car park and then headed off to get some food as we were all pretty hungry after all of the driving we had done so far today.

A very rare sight in Victoria, a 25th anniversary Stillen model:).

After having lunch we headed back to see if we could help out RedZedMikey who as you know locked his keys in the boot of his vert.

With everyone chipping in we got to work dismantling the interior of Mikeys vert to get access to the switch connector.

    SUCCESS:zlove:

Well that's it flocks, I decided to head home after that most people went with Mark inlane for the return trip but I just wanted to get home and you wont believe this but I drove past a Lamborghini Diablo VT and as soon as I saw the headlights I laugh, they are exactly the same as ours.

Anyways it was great catching up with everyone and I hope it wont be too long before the next cruise happens but we will just have to wait and see.:zlove:

Whoops! I posted some of these in facebook, but forgot to come here and do same ... sorry guys. And thanks to all the helpers in unlocking the boot - massive help! Note to self - don't get distracted by conersations while taking things out of or putting things in the boot!

That's a TwinZ type I lip. rob260/rgs performance sells these, but stock is very limited and I'm not aware if he has current stock or not.
