I picked my car up yesterday from AGI Precision.

Had a 6 point bolt in cage fitted. 4 Point half cage with harness bar and X diagonals. Door bars coming off the main hoop + cage is bolted to top of B pillar on bodywork.

Overall extremely happy with what Adam, Matt and the team did with the car. The cage had been on my project list for a couple of years now and to see it completed is fantastic. You barely notice the cage from the outside of the car due to the matte paint and due to the sloping hatch window can barely notice it from outside. The main hoop is tucked right up close to the trim. All my stock trim is retained.

I would highly recommend AGI to anyone thinking about going down the path of fitting a cage to their 300zx.

Car feels transformed, its like having a brand new chassis on a 24yr old car!! :br::). Car feels so solid and first thing I noticed was entering and exiting my driveway my 4th wheel comes off the ground now. Have also felt that the cage is making the suspension work 'harder' if you know what I mean. Suspension feels softer now.

Ultimate test will be this coming NSCC trackday on the 10th October.

    Mike

Only for L2S license events though ....... no good for anything above that level of competition as it is missing a header rail and braces above the top edge of the windscreen

Looks good for what it is though.

Did AGI give CAMS RoPS compliance certificate ??

Nice one, looks great. I like how they've included a bolt point at the top of the main hoop, very neat.

But yes as pointed out not suitable for full race use, but then a full race cage would not be street legal. This is perfect for track days and sprints though.

I'd also be interested in how much you paid for this (pm if preferred). I need to pull my finger out and get down and see them soon for my own cage lol.

AGI are doing the certificate for me over the weekend and sending it to me.
The car is a daily/track car so yes no header rails do to A pillar.

Thanks Rob, so do I! I hope all that extra weight of the cage does pay off with a lower PB.

On their website they have breakdowns of pricing for standard cages + optional addons.

Hi Shane, yes exactly, the way the cage is a good compromise for what I use the car for. The B pillar mount bolts up to where the Targa top pin mounts onto.

Have a chat to Adam, he is extremely helpful and all his experience in F1 over in Europe and current Formula 3 experience. Will be interesting to see how your cage turns out as a full cage instead of half cage.

AGI are pretty well known around town for full race cages. They also do the cages for the Excel series. They're one of three I'll be talking to :)

What did it set you back? When I enquired with them, they said roughly $850.

Thanks Logan, I actually got hint of AGI when you put up a group buy on the forum a while back. Most of their basic 4 point cages start at $600 however I had alot of extras added on which took the cost up quite a bit.:br:
