Well ladies and gents, let 'Wow' be the the one word to describe today's fundraiser.

What a great day, awesome weather, a great cruise and rally and great people; all of you and, such a great turnout. I think we had around 21-22 cars (Not all zeds though).
I lost track of the people headcount - but have to say it was well attended and enjoyed by all.

Sooooo let's roll with the important stuff first.

Today we raised $540 in cash donations (entry fee's) and, in addition to this we raised $49.00 in sales of aus300zx forum lanyards
A grand total of $589.00 Thanks so much for everyone's support.:zlove:

For the Rally prizes.. we only had a few hand-ins so we did a draw from first to third for prizes.

    Our winners are:

1st: Daniel - Spoolin'30 (24" Canvas custom car print (From RGS Performance), $75 Gift card from ConceptZPerformance and a couple of bottles of brake fluid courtesy of Brakes Direct - coming your way soon.

2nd: Alan - MrT: $50 Gift card from ConceptZPerformance and a couple of bottles of brake fluid courtesy of Brakes Direct - coming your way soon.

    3rd: 'J Jon' - 300ZEDX
$25 Gift card from ConceptZPerformance and a couple of bottles of brake fluid courtesy of Brakes Direct - coming your way soon.

I will be in touch with the winners for delivery of the remaining prizes, or to reach anyone that left early in the afternoon

That's it from me for now.. Thanks to everyone that made this such an awesome day.

Please post up pics when you can.

Great job Chris and everybody involved. As always great to catch up with old friends and also very cool to see some new members along. The outcome for the forum ($589 raised) was enormously significant -due to the efforts of Chris/LittleRedZx, the generosity of our sponsors (Brakes Direct, Concept Z Performance and RGS Performance), and the participation of everyone that came along. Please keep getting involved with (or even organising) events in your neighbourhood, and please support our sponsors when the opportunity arises :)

A few pics from the day

The meetup at Casula -unfortunately I only got the one pic before the battery in my camera up and died.

Fortunately Chris was able to lend me one later in the day.

From there we head over for a coffee and a bite beside the Nepean river in Jamisontown

Next stop was a catered lunch at Warragamba. My raw brocoli from Silverdale IGA tasted a little old, but I'm told that the sausages were excellent.

Daniel's newly acquired toy. This car was once owned by forum member CliveZx who built it up with Specialty Z exp-90 turbos (GT3071R), SARD 800cc injectors, JWT cams and other assorted goodies. Something of a weapon it's currently pumping out a comfortable 400rwkw.

Thanks Chris for all your hard work and a great drive in some new countryside.

Thanks too for Rob and getting these photos uploaded.

It was great to put faces to names at last and meet a really decent bunch of people.

PS Rob, can you please change the photo tag to "Adam/Chev28". Chev28 is my name for forums since I had this old girl between having a 260Z and Elmo today.

    Cheers

    Adam

Adam, that Chevy looks awesome mate. You still own it?
I always think people's car ownership street cred goes up a few notches when they own one of these fine pieces of motoring history.

Thanks Chris. Whiterose left a few years back when we needed the money for a block of land (just like the 260z left me when I got married and needed a "practical" car).

Had years of fun though, 0-80 km/h in 5 minutes. Took nearly that long to stop again with mechanical brakes and those cheesecutter wheels. Steering wheel action had only a vague relationship to the direction of the car. No synchros back then so mandatory double declutching downshifts.

No seatbelts too so you just took it easy.

Lot of cool stuff like ignition advance/retard lever and idle lever both on the steering wheel, little hand operated windscreen wiper, foot starter (and crankhandle when that didn't work). Daily rituals of oiling the tappets and greasing the water pump kept you busy. Check the fuel gauge too before you leave as it is located at the back of the car.

Building and maintaining it teaches you that if it is broken - you rebuild it. Repco/eBay doesn't have all your parts so you need to reweld, braze, machine, repack anything that falls off. You also had to do your own upholstery repairs (including making side windows).

Next one will be a Ford most likely as they have all steel frames in the tub. No timber.
