Finally got around to finish changing my cluster/pod lights to blue leds with 300km/h Nismo cluster and installed the EL panel to light up the 300ZX letters on the rear centre panel. Pretty happy with the result, but was a nightmare to get done. Almost melted the panel using the oven method. Bought a blow touch and that worked a treat, so much faster and more precise. Hardest part was finding the right paint to black out the panel so light doesn't pass through, luckily got some from a good friend at the panel shop near where I work. All in the all the result was worth all the headaches. Check out pics in my garage.

Next job is to upgrade my radiator. Already bought a 56mm AMS radiator and nismo thermostat, but waiting to buy some stainless steel intake pipes and do the change over all at once. Don't think I will be doing the radiator myself though, abit too technical and didn't want to risk damaging anything mechanical, so will be looking for a good mechanic or someone to help when the time comes.

Also getting some new rear tyres this weekend at Advance Tyres in Richmond as recommended by other members. Going for Federal 595's 235/40 R18, $130 installed. Checked out their website and seems like these tyres have good street/performance cred and been used extensively by pros. Can't wait to feel the difference as my rear has been sliding around alot with the current Maxxis MA V1 which are worn to the steel, but milking them to the max for burnouts.

Mines a TT, kool, when I get all my stuff together I will contact you. cheers Abraham, I'm Michael by the way, think I met you briefly at one of the GOR cruises, your white ZX has the white Lambo doors if I can remember. Actually, do you know where I can get nice steel intake pipes from in AUS that are reasonably priced?, that's that last thing I need to do the radiator.

If you are after hard pipes...i am after some aswell :(

You just need a TT radiator...plenty of coolant...my TT radiator takes almost 2 bottles when empty :( plus the intake pipes and couples if you already dont have some...

Yes, mine is the white one with the lambo doors LOL...cant remember seeing yours at the GOR run...mine looks heaps different since then LOL

5L should be the coolant capacity with a plenum pull. Thats how much we used after my last flush.

Stripped the sh!t out of the 14mm nuts on the lower 2 bolts of the upper camber arms cradle (only attempted driver's side so far). Keen to get these FUCA's fitted and get down with the whipper-snappers but now hit this wall.

Before I take a grinder to them is there anything I should know? I'm thinking that an E-Z off socket won't work because these suckers were teee-iiiiight!!! Had a good quality ringy on them and had a breaker bar about 2 foot long with all I had to give.

Try a single hex socket on them, single hex only has 6 points so will grip much better.

A 91 build date after August is sold as a my92.

That is the "Model Year" but does not make it a 92 car, MY prefixing is a relatively modern thing to minimise the issue of effect on business of model changeover and the perception of old stock.

Yes a car with a manufacture date of 2007 can be a MY08, but it is still an 07 manufacture date.

The MY08 manufactured in 07 will have the MY08 fit out and that is what it is about "the model" VN, VP, VR, VS etc etc, people want to buy the latest model a series 1 a series 2 a VY rather than a VT etc etc, sales and marketing added another model identifier, so selling a MY13 in 2012 has prestige, they can negotiate a better price because if you want to deal you can have the MY12 that is floor stock and is probably running up interest on the floor plan finance deal the yard uses. Either way they have the upper hand "hey it is still a VE", they get to sell the latest at top dollar and direct there barging hunters to remove old stock. It is a sales gimmick nothing more nothing less.

It is a relatively new thing and certainly was not around in the early nineties, back then Holden used VN and VP and series 1 and series 2 to do the job, MYXX is just another layer.

Anyone calling there 300ZX a year any other than what the VIN decodes the manufacture date to, is a numpty.

Otherwise the 08/00 last manufactured 2 seat TT is a 2001 is it not ?

im not much of a story teller, but what i can say is its basically a new car, engine purrs, its actually quiet on idle, and everything has improved

he went above and beyond with his work, had a few other issues that he fixed for me, but in his words, its basically a brand new engine

anyone who has heard my engine before will hear an instant difference

next up? exhaust system and diff bushes/cradle

In the flesh is nice. I like.

Got rid of those pesky, pathetic LED's that mess up the flash rate. I could have went with the idea below...

...but that would have meant hard work!

If I were to cut slits in the nose panel and mount the overly large oil cooler under it do you think it would have enough air flow? I need that space where it currently is to mount my FMIC.

Model Years has been around since the 80's bris, when the globalised VIN system was introduced, and even before hand, the Japanese market model year usually changes with the tokyo motor show (or just before the tokyo motor show). So they can show off the new next year model's
