The best Z day ever for me, Bryan and Cam are the best Z mechanics in the country. They went above and beyond for me on Saturday and I am eternally grateful for the work they did.

The plan for the day was to take the plenum off, to check for an oil leak I had developed at the back of the engine also check one of the heater hard pipes in the same area for coolant leaks. I know Bryan probably hated me for asking this but I made an extra request for a EGR removal while the plenum was off and to my surprise, Bryan accepted the challenge without hesitation:). Upon removal of the plenum we discovered the cause of the oil leak, which was coming from the rocker covers as they weren't screwed down tight enough:mad:. Easy fix:). Then we checked all the injector connectors and found a ton of corrosion in every one of them as well as every injector:(. But luckily for me all the connectors were getting destroyed during the removal process and Bryan had brand new snap on connectors to replace them.

    Onto the photos.

Here is Dean (bRacket) helping me out with taking the EGR bolts off. Thanks mate:)

Yay plenum is off. Excuse the dirty engine bay I just don't have the stamina for cleaning it with a tooth brush.

    Target area:mad:

    TPS connector, full of corrosion:mad:

Bryan and Cam had to replace all the hoses underneath the plenum and install the EGR blanking plates for me.

EGR removal was going slow and it was looking like a pain to get out. I know everyone who helped lost some sort of flesh from either their arms or knuckles and I thank everyone one for helping with the removal.

    Almost ready to come out:).

These hardpipes were the biggest pain to get out. But Bryans method was simple bend the pipe till it snapped. Simple.

    Gone:)

    Bye Bye EGR unit:zlove:

By now only a few Zs remained

    New O2 sensor's in place:).

Bryan soldering in my new injector connectors.

    All back together again.

Here is the aftermath when I got home.

    Corroded injector connectors:(

And the Worlds toughest O2 Sensor. This thing was insane to get off. Basically the sensor somehow melted itself to the bracket it was sitting in and Bryan had to shear the top of the unit off to get a socket on it to get it out. This is all that is left.

don't forget that o2 sensor also had wires that not even tin snips were manageing to cut

and thanks heaps again Dean (bRacket) for the lift to werribee after hanging around to watch / help with my engine / turbo removal, finally made it home at 6am.

and here's my share of bandwidth destruction.

Oh yeah thats right, it took Bryan 5 minutes to cut 2 wires with the snips:eek:

I forgot to report back to everyone how my car was after the pull, well I can say it felt like she was a brand new car. It felt smoove and constant. The revs dont drop at all when taking my foot off the accelerator and she felt like she has gain power when cruising up to speed. Very happy with the outcome of the pull but I still have a nagging transmission problem I hope to book in with Bryan early next year and finally fix that problem once and for all.

Also a lot of people noticed my Stillen Service Cover i brought with me for the day and a lot of questions where asked and I promised I would post up the details.

Cost me $122.00 AUD from Concept Z Performance. Definately helped keep my front fenders clean and scratch free throughout the plenum pull. Definately worth the money when doing any kind of engine work.

Excellent, it came in handy for putting tools on and you didnt have to worry when leaning on the fenders when reaching over the engine.
