    hey guys

well as a few of us sydney boys have recently discovered... massive puddles and HID ballasts dont like each other

now, mine were placed behind the indicators, and are there again due to taking the headlight off (in 20 min without removing the front bar) and the ballasts not fitting.

the question is, where can i place my ballasts that will be out of harms way and are nice and secure?

i attempted to place them under the nose, but it frustrated me to no end due to it not fitting in there with the panel on (i fail yes :D)

ALSO, with the H4 bulbs they gave me... are there any places i can use them be it foggies? or what?

final question, what other applications can i use the HID's for involving the Z?

This interests me to as I am ugradeing to HIDs soon. Although they are pretty cheap now I dint want to have to replace them due to damage. I want the do it once do it right approach. How do you get the headlights out in 20 mins? I take it the bar wasn't removed?

    Search buddy ?

its been covered im sure with pictures too.
You have a N/A correct.. you should have TONNES of space.. under the nose panel should be easy enough, you may just have to alter the bracket to bolt to something..if not i have mine in behind the indicators for my high beams.. (same ballast size as normal low's i believe).

as for the foggies im not sure.. havnt done it.

you could install HID/s in your reverse lights :p the guy that i got my HID kits off had his falcon reverse lights changed to HID's lol but it looked cool and bright!!! hehe you could always put a small plastic cover over it and zip tie it and so mud wont be able to get onto the ballasts. I have just zip tied mine and ive never had a problem comes mud or rain.

in regards to the H4...when i bought my zed it had H7's in the lows and the brightness wasnt good...i changed them to the proper type and the brightness was clear...so im pretty sure if you put a bulb type that is different to what is meant to be in there then it wont be as bright...but that is what happened to me so could be different with yours.

    Goodluck.

i was actually surprised when i heard it takes 40+min to take them out... front bar tayed on cause i didnt want to stuff around with it.
surprised when i took them out so fast lol, lots of swearing and fiberglass in my arms :D

im just seeing what others have done, nose panel is annoying cause the cables were just short.

slimlines will be on their way soon so i have a spare set of HID's for what ever future project

one thing ive been wondering too (flame suit on)

strobe in the headlights... how is that done, where do i get them... its just gonna be a wanky thing to show off with :D not gonna be used while driving

I have four ballasts under the nose panel and still have ample room for Air Horns & Compressor and a Pod Filter. Never had the slightest problem with them getting wet or failing.

One of my ballasts just failed from soaking up too much water being placed under the nose panel.

Am I the only one questioning 20 dollar ebay special HID's here or what?!

    I think that's 95% of the problem.

Do you have a splashgaurd? mine have been under there for a while now, through lots of heavy rain, parked and driving and haven't come even close to getting wet. The ballasts can fail without water as well.

tassuperkart Its a lie I tell you!

ALWAYS install the ballasts with the leads exiting DOWN!
This much should be plainly obvious if you use your head.

No splashguard. When I took out the faulty one, it was leaking water :( I'm more worried about my pod...

Mine are under the nose panel, have never had an issue with water, all my undertrays are in place, although I've recently lost my sealing strip between nose panel and front bar......I should find that.
